No Food, Locked Toilets and then they switched off the air conditioning on the airplane..WHAT ?

Airlines passengers in the United States are supposedly protected by the new Passenger Bill of Rights. This is the report that came out right after it was passed into law by the Senate in 2009. again this law happened because the 99% (the trapped passengers) stood up to and defeated the 1% (the airlines).

The Senate was forced to pass this act in 2009. Mainly because of the many incidents where passengers rights were ignored during weather emergencies. Youtube is a repository of all the videos uploaded by frustrated passengers trapped on airplanes; who demanded something be done about their false imprisonment.

This man did nothing and he is within his legal rights as a passenger to demand clarity on what's happening. he is also within his rights to stream this harrassment directly to Youtube so everyone can see it exactly as it happened - without editing. This man is a passenger and not a criminal - so why is this happening to this passenger. What happened to the Fouth Amendment ?

The bill calls for a fine of $27,500. per passenger per incident. This fine was intended to make the airlines pay for their disregard of the passengers rights. We're waiting to see what they'll do to Jet Blue after this weekends horrendous incident in Connecticut. Somehow we think that Jet Blue will find a way out of the fine; and the passengers rights will have been trounced once again sadly.

This past weekend it happened again, but the twist is that it happened in the US and also in the UK. Yes the UK has now entered the passenger bill of rights fight. a whole airplane full of passengers were so angry with their chartered airlines - Viking Hellas; that they decided to take action right then and there.

The passengers actually decided on action and staged an ON Plane Sit In

WOW.. that's the first time we've heard of the passengers actually taking control of the airplane by refusing to deplane and demanding compensation for their mistreatment.

We Salute the folks who were on that Viking Hellas flight and wish them strength in their fight. There is never a time when peoples rights should be so clearly ignored.

In the US, the problem was that the air carrier refused to meet the two hour window for deplaning passengers; in the event of a flight cancellation.

These folks were trapped on the tarmac looking at the airport a couple hundred feet away. It makes us wonder if the airplane was on fire and it was during a snow storm; if the passengers would have eventually been deplaned - using Jet Blues' logic. yeah.

We hear that the only reason that the shit didn't start flying through the air onto the flight crew was because they LOCKED the bathrooms.

Yes you read right. Keep reading and get yourself a dose of why we fly on commercial airlines as little as possible these days. Even after visiting more than 40 countries mostly by airplane - we can see that there's bullshit up in the air and we're standing clear of it.

Passengers stage sit-in on plane at Birmingham Airport

Some 100 passengers staged a sit-in on a plane at Birmingham Airport refusing to get off for several hours.

The Viking Hellas flight was originally scheduled to leave from Manchester for Athens at 13:00 BST, but passengers were then taken by bus to Birmingham.

They boarded a plane due to leave at 17:00, but were then told to get off, which they refused to do.

At about 01:30 BST they finally agreed to leave and left the airport by bus to return to Manchester.

West Midlands Police boarded the plane during the dispute.

A police spokesman said: "It was just a civil dispute and the police were there monitoring the situation to make sure it didn't get out of hand."

He said there had been "an issue between the airline and the passengers".

A passenger named Dorota said the flight had been chartered and they were originally due to fly on Friday, 21 October.

She said: "People are hungry. They have not eaten since this morning.

"The air conditioning has been switched off and it is getting hot. The airline will not give us food, only water."

She later said: "We decided to leave the plane because there was no point in staying on there.

"We are going home. We have got a letter from Viking Hellas and we can get a refund."

The letter said the plane could not take off due to unforeseen circumstances, she said.

No-one has been available for comment from Viking Hellas.

ooohhhh Viking Hellas you did a very bad thing. You are going to have to pay for this big time. Clearly the fact that they bussed the passengers from Manchester and then Back was the first indication that they were having real issues.

The passengers will no doubt end up in court with the airlines; and win. The Airline however will end up being absorbed into another low cost carriers fleets and the incident will be another teaching moment for both Passengers, and members of the Travel Industry. This is a great part of why we left the corporate travel environment when we did. The air carriers were already beginning to show their hatred for the industry and the passengers.

Travel Industry confidence levels are at an all time low now. This next incident in the United States shows us why the federal bill was put into action. No One regardless of why; should ever be trapped on an airplane in clear view of the terminal.

I've personally been trapped on an airplane in Miami during a power outage; and we were forced to sit on the airplane and watch as our connecting flights took off without us. This was before the airlines passenger bill of rights was passed. but still the situation happens everyday, somewhere in the world; and passengers are paying more and more for less and less.

This is an illustration of why the US Travel Industry is no longer growing. It has reached the point of stagnation as it's basically destroyed by the airlines in their fare schemes. No where should this happen to anyone - ever.

‘Confluence of Events’ Led to Plane’s Stranding on Tarmac, JetBlue Says

Passengers on the plane that took off from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at about 9 a.m. yesterday were stuck on the tarmac in Connecticut for more than seven hours after the flight was diverted, the Associated Press reported.

One passenger said the last hours were spent without food or water and the restrooms were unusable. The wire service said the plane was bound for Newark, New Jersey.

JetBlue, in a statement today, said it was uncertain how long any of its planes remained on the tarmac. The airline said that six of its flights were diverted to the Hartford area due to “infrastructure issues” at airports in the New York area.

“We have seen media reports of a lack of provisions onboard and our internal information does not correlate with those reports,” the statement said.

New York-based JetBlue said the airport “experienced intermittent power outages,” which made refueling and deplaning difficult.

John Wallace, a spokesman for Bradley International Airport, didn’t respond to a request for comment by telephone and e-mail.

More than 3.8 million homes and businesses from West Virginia to Maine were without power this weekend after the region’s biggest October storm in decades blanketed some towns with 31 inches of snow.

In Connecticut, 800,935 customers were without service this afternoon, surpassing the outages caused by Hurricane Irene in August. Hartford set an October snow record with 12.3 inches (31 centimeters).

Tmobile is loosing ground quickly. ever since it was announced that they were being bought out by AT&T; things have quickly moved toward the worst.

This is a synopsis of my encounter earlier today. I spent more than 2 hrs trying to get information and make changes to my TMobile accounts.

Which Still Hasn't Happened..

the thing that hits me most is that the representatives seem to enjoy treating you as though you don't understand any of what is going on.  mocking and absolutely playing the fool card.

this is my worded response to their customer service survey - I gave them all 1's which is total dissatisfaction; and added this comment for their clarity

I have never received such poor service as I have today from t-mobile, both online in chat and on the phone.  the entire system seems broken and unwilling to service customers needs. not even calls from supervisors are being returned.  I think TMobile is absolutely working their way to the bottom as quickly as they can. as soon as I can get out of my contract with TMobile I am OUT. You have pushed me away as a customer and I'VE HAD IT. two lines for 7 years and this is how you treat me ? 

you install a phone automation system which defeats the purpose of calling, when you can't get through to a live person for assistance. it's even worse when you try to get assistance from an online agent in chat for customer service and what you get instead is no service; ignored and treated like you are bothering them.

since when is a paying customer a bother ? obviously you've started changing to the we hate customers style of management which is why you will soon see your customer base disappear.  you're already becomming more like at&t than you even know.  this is the worst thing that could ever happen to any consumer. and trust me, I will be writing, blogging, broadcasting and fb'n all about this, until I get a resolution.

He was on the downward swing of the economic changes and suburban political swings that would bring about White Flite. Mitty reminds us of that White Flight and the White Fears.. always wanna throw something away before you look at it to see if it's still usable; like Detroit. they have such an insecurity about control; that they have to be anal retentive about everything. Absolutely to the point, that they shit on it.

So many politicians have attempted to Shit on the D, and all found that the D took a bite out of their asses. Mitty is finding that his comments will be the foundation of what will prevent anyone from seeing him as a candidate, for President. Even the republicant's aren't so brain dead, that they'd ignore a comment like that.

Remember Detroit has a lot of republican influence asserted against it. you have Rick the shit Snyder; Oakland Countys' Brooks the crook Patterson; and even Robert I fucked up Ficano; all republicant's.

Detroits' problems are massive. Most of them stem from the horrendous budget cuts and lack of funding; to the largest city and highest tax base recepient in the State of Michigan. Yes Detroit pays more than any other city to the state, and still it receives less than most cities its' size anywhere else in the nation. This is the real reason for it's budget shortfalls; and continued denegeration as a city.

Hipsterish gentrification seems to be behind this. Everyone has seen the plans for the new smaller hipper Detroit. The New Detroit that doesn't include any faces of the people who have lived here for generations. those faces are the ones who are being called Bankrupt by faces like Mitty.

There has to be a clearer path to reality in our Rustbelt metropolis, other than bankruptcy. But if bankruptcy is their choice then give us the keys when you pull the fuck out and we'll show you what Detroit can really be.

You see thats' the real problem. no one wants to turn control of the real affairs of the city over to those residents who have ridden it out from the 50's, 60's 70's and even the 80's.

We've been here and we're still here

The hipsters are coming in, buying property for pennies; creating small enclaves within a city. That in itself is anti city. How do you create a walled fortress inside of a neighborhood and want to be considered a part of that neighborhood ? not gonna happen.

This is what white flite brings back. The pre funded urban grunge sympathiser who doesn't see the struggle that the family who has lived here for 50 years has dealt with.

They don't have the equity in the community to have suffered through the lack of bank loans to help with up keep on their property; even though they've banked there for generations. Their newish wsp will open doors that still swing shut on generational residents even to this day. How healthy or business saavy can that be in any economic climate ? selective lending and other redlining issues have and still continue to plague Detroit residents.

The high taxes for city services which lack even a semblence of basics. The absence of street maintenance; the lack of appropriate trash pick up. this has led to dumping by contractors from all over the tri county area, who instead of paying to dump their loads in landfills as mandated; just pull up to a vacant lot and unload their crap, right on Detroit.

Calls to the police while this dumping is happening also do no good; as the Police don't respond. To city residents who are the victims of this faceless crime, it almost seems as though they don't respond so that it can continue. This is a part of the devaluation of entire neighborhoods, which have literally burned or crumbled to the ground.

Now undercover Republican't Mayor former basketballer and union busting industrialist Dave Bing; has a plan to parcel off and sell these neighborhoods to developers.

Yes I said he intends to sell entire neighborhoods to gated community developers. Thereby removing part of the tax base and residential housing base from the city; And he plans to do it without even a vote from the citizens.

The most horrendous crime as far as we can see is the total lack of community policing to address the pockets of crime. If you call the police for assistance, and there is not a weapon involved, they don't come period. This is inexcusable in a city with more than 3000 police officers.

Crime in Detroit has reached the point that frustrated community members are responding directly to the police, by ambushing them when they rob them; and even going so far as to come to the police station armed and ready for combat. you may remember the incident where a Detroiter and the Police shot it out in a police station last year.

Unfortunantely no one heard the reason for the shoot out because the police hushed it up. The streets have it that this man had been robbed and pistol whipped by plain clothes police from this very preceint. yes I said Robbed and Pistol Whipped By the Police. The cops in the D are a rare breed to put it mildly. not all are wearing the balaclavas, but the blue wall of silence makes them all the same.

They openly terrorize the community and hold the youth hostage, with no recourse. This is a part of the reason Detroit is still under a Federal Justice Consent Decree Monitoring program. the cops are wayyy off the hook and no one is trying to reign them in. they don't prevent crime, they basically ignore it to help degenerate the citys' profile. This is a major part of the reason frustration has risen so high with law enforcement.

As Well, for generations the lack of community control of the schools system has led to the inability to provide a prepared pool of workers for a city dying of employer neglect. you either went to work in an auto factory or one of the hospitals. now there are no factory jobs and the hospital needs skilled workers.

Presently the few public school programs that help Detroit youngsters get into healthcare field positions are totally underfunded. so much so that they don't have enough teachers to supply the need for classes. yet they don't have enough money to hire the teachers, to teach the students who are in queue for Healthcare curiccullums. What a circular travesty.

Detroit Wants to Know How You'd Handle These Issues Mitty ?

1. How can you turn out skilled workers if you don't teach Currently In Demand skills ?
2. Where are the programs for robotics ?
3. What about electronics equipment repair programs ?
4. What about construction trades ? these are all in demand and in need fields that are not even a part of the Detroit Public Schools system curriculum.
5. What about the Pharmacy Tech and Healthcare field programs that get funding assistance from corporate interests, Where are they ?

Why is this happening Mitty ?

Mostly because the funds have been mismanaged to the point that the community elected school board has been usurped by the governor and replaced with a school system manager. yes a person who okays everything instead of a board who was elected to run the schools by the voters.

We'd also like to ask these questions about our taxes and development funds Mitty -

1. Why is it that companies like Compuware get millions of dollars of tax relief; Yet a small business or store owner gets nothing for providing food or services in his neighborhood ?
2. Why do the traffic patterns lead you only away from commerce, unless it's into the block granted areas of non Detroit owned businesses ?
3. Where are the grants to develop neighborhoods and preserve the economic infrastructure needed to maintain a neighborhoods' stability and economic integrity ?
4. Why do we have so many liquor stores and so few supermarkets ?
5. Why are there so many fast food outlets and so few neighborhood Mom and Pop Cafes' ?
6. What happened to backyard garden projects in vacant lots with the help of the Wayne County 4H cooperative ?
7. What happened to kids going outside and picking up paper on their schools' yards and planting gardens and flowers ?
8. Where are our Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts selling cookies ?

Yes we ask these questions because these are the questions that archive the active life of a community. Not a criss cross of miniature fortified enclaves met by freeway escape ramps. What happened to the Beauty that Is Detroit ?

Lets' Ask Mitt and His Republicant's because they're the ones who defunded and Bankrupted them.

Delta does not Respect the American Soldier

In fact they are purposely forcing them to pay for carrying their tools when they fly.Delta is forcing them to pay to carry their guns, and rocket launchers. what are they thinking ? this is military equipment ? Delta did this even though they have a contract that allows the military to carry four bags, Delta is forcing these soldiers in transit to pay for their fourth bag. WTF Delta ?

Delta Airlines charges troops for bags: A military unit returning to the United States from Afghanistan was charged $2,800 — or $200 per soldier — in extra baggage fees on a June 7th flight from Baltimore’s Washington International Airport.
The soldier who published the video, Spc. Robert O’Hair, asked another passenger to explain the fees the unit was asked to pay prior to boarding. The passenger said the fee was for his fourth bag, which contained government-issued items.
Delta Airlines says its policy is to waive extra baggage fees for up to four bags in business and first class, and three bags in coach, to accomodate active duty US military service members. It’s not clear where the soldiers appearing in the video were seated, but one says he was charged $200 for his fourth bag.
Delta Airlines released a statement explaining their policy and apologizing to the soldiers, but offered no information on whether or not the troops in the YouTube video would be reimbursed their expenses.

Workers reenter Fukushima’s damaged No. 1 reactor for first time

Things were so dangerous after a blast at Fukushima Daiichi reactor No. 1 that workers didn’t enter the building at all afterwards. Until today. Nearly two months after the hydrogen explosion that greatly damaged the plant on March 11th, NHK reports that workers re-entered the building housing the reactor for the first time since the initial blast. The workers plan to install an air purifier in the plant, reportedly ”aimed at preventing workers from suffering internal radiation exposure when they work on setting up a new cooling system at the No. 1 reactor.” That must be a really good air purifier. The Army Corp of Engineers has started their chain reaction flood as we suggested they would earlier in the week. we honestly won't know the real end result until the waters finally recede and the farmlands are visible again. this is supposedly another of those 100 year floods that happened inside 80 years. doesn't that tell you a lil something America ?

And finally but certainly not least of the stories we're watching today, the family of Dave Duerson has received the news they were waiting for - confirmation that his depression and brain injury were the cause of his death. many in the NFL see this of little consiquence - yet we think it makes a world of difference.

We believe that this will encourage the NFL and AAU to take steps to strengthen it's resolve to provide better training and equipment to prevent future injuries such as the ones which cost us a great athlete like Dave Duerson. Terry Bradshaw has also come out recently in the news and admitted that part of his brain is obviously damaged from the continuous hits he took on the field during his long gridiron career.

“Dave Duerson, a former NFL player who committed suicide in February, had left a request with relatives that he wanted his brain tissues examined. That examination has been concluded and its results probably will come as no surprise,” reports Chuck Schilken:

Dr. Ann McKee, the researcher who made the diagnosis, said Duerson had “moderately advanced” brain damage related to blows to the head and that “it’s indisputable” that Duerson had chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which is linked to repeated brain trauma.

In an article done in USA TODAY, a report suggested that airline maintenance on may be shoddy. The article states, "During the past six years, millions of passengers have been on at least 65,000 U.S. airline flights that shouldn't have taken off because planes weren't properly maintained, a six-month USA TODAY investigation has found." The article further stated that "shoddy work or failure to do repairs can often go undetected because of inconsistent or ineffective FAA and airline oversight."

This image has become the best-known representation of Baphomet.

Levi's depiction is similar to that of the Devil in early tarot cards, but it may also have been partly inspired by grotesque carvings on the Templar churches of Lanleff in Brittany and St. Merri in Paris, which depict squatting bearded men with bat wings, female breasts, horns and the shaggy hindquarters of a beast.^[13]

Lévi considered the Baphomet to be a depiction of the absolute in symbolic form and explicated in detail his symbolism in the drawing that served as the frontispiece:

"The goat on the frontispiece carries the sign of the pentagram on the forehead, with one point at the top, a symbol of light, his two hands forming the sign of hermetism, the one pointing up to the white moon of Chesed, the other pointing down to the black one of Geburah. This sign expresses the perfect harmony of mercy with justice. His one arm is female, the other male like the ones of the androgyn of Khunrath, the attributes of which we had to unite with those of our goat because he is one and the same symbol. The flame of intelligence shining between his horns is the magic light of the universal balance, the image of the soul elevated above matter, as the flame, whilst being tied to matter, shines above it. Baphomet is clearly the source as well of the later Tarot image of the Devil, in the Rider-Waite design. The symbol of the goat in the downward-pointed pentagram was adopted as the official symbol — called the Sigil of Baphomet — of the Church of Satan, and continues to be used among Satanists.
