Ms Scott - You Lead The Class

Can The Women who do Strong Things Put Their Hands Up Right Now -

It's becoming hard to find female roll models these days in the music business; who use their talent instead of their looks to build a following. being smart is often not the top of the list for female artists; at least from the record company promo side. this time we think the First Lady had alot to do with changing that perception. she invited Jill Scott to Read at the recent White House Poetry Night. Ahhh Yessss.

We Do Love Jill Scott - and this is her best poetry performance yet. Take a look at her as she reads poetry for the FLOTUS and the POTUS; at the White House Poetry Nite 05/11/2011.

Yes Girl you are much more than an ass..

We really think it's sad that the folks in the faux media missed this. it might help them to understand What Poetry Really Is. they seemed to be fixated on the whole Common issue. That alone made us hoot and holla; knowing that as soon as enough people saw both Jill Scott and Commons' readings, all this lala would cease.

People seem to forget that some contemporary HipHop Artists went to college and speak english fluently.

SMDH, Can Somebody run tell Sean Hannity about this please.

Hellooo can someone turn the lights out on this empty house ?

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann reintroduced legislation in the U.S House Tuesday to repeal the 2007 law mandating incandescent light bulbs be phased out in favor of compact fluorescent light bulbs by Jan. 1, 2012.

Her resolution, Light Bulb Freedom of Choice Act - Please Watch Her IN ACTION. Remember that there is a constitution that talks about Equal Rights, and apparently she's unaware of it. isn't it almost a requirement to be in elected office, that you are aware that your job depends on the constitution ? especially if you are in the Legislative Branch of the government ?

Yeah Papi, Whatever You Sayyyyy,

The Pope is one very confused fashionista. lately he's taken to saying things that make no sense at all.  Okay I'll stop lying - He's Said Somemore stupid shit.  Like this past weekend when he came out and said that Male Prostitutes can use condoms; but that Female Prostitutes can't demand their Male customers use them.

WTF ?

I think B2's red slippers may be a lil too tight. Somebody Slap Him so they loosen up and he can restore the bloodflow to his brain; since we know it wasn't working when he said that dumb shit.

Give Thanks for Women who bear the worlds pain and sorrow

Today we highlight a Blogger/Citizen Journalist who has reached out and touched the otherside of our hearts - Cher from AskCherlock.com.She recently did an interview with Mugisho Theophile of the DR Congo.  the efforts of Bro. Mugisho are outstanding and deserve to be publicized.  if you can spare a moment, please take time and visit the original post and leave a supportive comment, as it's the right thing to do.

To Read the Entire Piece Click the Title PLEASE

In February of 2010, I interviewed Mugisho Theophile regarding his efforts in the DR Congo for promoting rights of Congolese women who are suffering massive attacks of rape, mutilation and murder, not only themselves, but against their children. Mugisho has bravely set out to help these women under most dire circumstances. Mugisho and I decided to do a follow up interview on the progression of his organization COFAPRI.

Cher: Mugisho, I understand that the name of your organization has been changed. Can you tell us why? In addition, your organization has not been registered. What are the reasons for that?

Mugisho: Cher, I thank you very much for organizing this follow up interview. I am sure people need to know what has been done so far since we had our last interview of last February. It is true that the name of our organization has been a little bit modified. It is now called CONGOLESE FEMALES ACTION FOR PROMOTING RIGHTS AND DEVELOPMENT-COFAPRI. Such a change has occurred because of the precious advice we got from the registration officers. In fact, they want us not only to help Congolese and the Great Lakes Region –GLR-( region composed of three countries: the Democratic Republic of Congo- DRC-, Burundi and Rwanda) women and girls recover their social and home rights but also involve them in developing their respective biodiversities, environment, families and countries and everything around them. The point here is that no rights can be enjoyed if people are lagging behind in development. In general, if human rights are respected, this is development as well.

As for not having registration up to now, it is due to the process that takes long. In fact, as a young organization, we had first to make ready all the required documents that were required to present to registration officers, like the statutes, the regulations, the logo, etc., which took us a long period. Once we had drafted all those documents, we were required to get clarifications from the registration officers for approval. From the above, you can see that this truly requires a long process. It is in this context and following the recommendations we were given, that the organization name was also changed a little bit. As everything is now in the registration officers’ hands, we hope to get registration in the very near future. We will be pleased to inform you with every process done ahead.

Cher: What is your target population and what are the reasons for your choices?

Mugisho: Our prime target populations are the village women and the girls who have been victimized by violence either in the consecutive long lasting wars that devastated the Eastern part of the DRC in particular and the GLR in general or in their respective households. We focus more on remote villages because women and girls of this area suffer unimaginably, beyond what we expect. The international organizations based in the country fail to reach these areas because no roads lead to those areas and in case there are some, they are poorly maintained. The warfare that lasted for more than a decade caused people, particularly females and children suffer in different ways. In the case of the DRC, men were killed at the spot. Women, girls and children, who were the most victims, were also sometimes killed for sure but in an awful way.

They are raped, tortured and even mutilated, which made and still makes some of them suffer physically, morally and psychologically. Our focus is much directed toward the women, the girls and the children in remote villages in the Eastern DRC where wars were mostly terrible. In these conflicting zones, women and girls were massively raped and some of them got unwanted pregnancies. These odious acts occurred either in the home of the victim or in places where they were hiding in the bush; and sometimes this happened in the eyes of family members. Some boys and men were sometimes obliged to rape their mothers, sisters or daughters in the eyes of the criminals. Fathers were compelled to rape their daughters; the criminals would ask a relative to kill the member of the family. In the case of desistance, the recalcitrant was shot dead and if he was lucky, he only got tortured. Everything was done in public. Some of the girls who were raped gave birth to children who have no fathers.

As stated earlier, men were slaughtered, as these women are now widows and that they give birth to fatherless children and that most village women have no jobs, these children will not have any financial support. This situation puts these people into a quagmire and it pushes these children to become street children. The girls will mostly involve in early prostitution with the aim of supporting their families, which is a danger for security in the future. There are other women and girls who were contaminated AIDS and others died from the wounds they got in their genitals.

In the latter case, it has been proved via various international and local reports that in some areas, females were raped by exaggerating number of rapists: more than two rapists on a woman or a girl and this happened several times on the same individual, without not even considering the age and the conditions in which the unfortunate victim was. Women as old as 72 and children (girls and boys ) as young as 5 were raped. Pregnant women were also raped, most of them got abortion and others died in their hideouts. For the reasons above and many more I did not include, the Congolese woman and her daughter and the whole community were ridiculed to death through such odious treatment. Such barbarian domination of the woman reflects non respect of human beings. This caused trauma to these women and girls; physical, moral and psychological wounds remain in their brains. In this way, they need healing and support.

In addition to warfare violence in the DRC, there also exists household violence. This time, this is issue of culture. Over ages, the society has always been instilled that everything should be under man domination. The Great Lakes Region, in general and the DRC, in particular have never been exempted from such beliefs that weigh too much on women and girls because they hinder their integrative development. In the case of the DRC, mostly in villages, women and girls are totally deprived of their basic rights. In the same way, as they have no word in public, they hardly report sexual violence they underwent because it is shameful and prohibited for a woman to speak about sex in public as this is considered as a taboo issue.

Some other women and girls are denied the right to attend school because of the fallacies of some men and fathers, who are the family decision makers, believe that girls are not as performant as boys at school; that the girl will be married and so no use to spend on her since she will not be productive for her parents. In other areas, women are totally not allowed to eat some food, here called taboo food, which obviously contains vitamins and proteins necessary for body development, like eggs, chicken, meat of goat, etc. Such items of food are surrounded of lots of myths to make women and girls understand that they should not eat it, a sign of selfishness and greediness of those men.

Remember it is our hearts that heat the world

I got a letter earlier today from my friend Erin from the Womens' Refugee Commission. They've long been on a global quest to bring safer cooking stoves to women around the globe.  most of the problems women and their children face are from poor living conditions; such as only having a charcoal stove for heating and cooking.  in case you don't know, charcoal coats the lungs like it does their houses.  the children get lung disease and tuberculosis just like their mothers. Mainly because many of them are strapped to their moms, backs while she is working over that charcoal stove.

They are the Youngest Casualties, and we should start helping to prevent these casualties, today.
There are safer stoves and methods of cooking and heating for these families.  are you aware that a parabolic reflector stove can be used in many of these situations without any damage to the people or the planet ?

FF: Ladies Do Your Drapes Match Your Carpet ?

Yes that question is not an ordinary decorators question; but more of a Lady Clairol question, if you get me,
Sitting waiting for a table in a restaurant recently, we overheard some men talking about the women in their lives; and the conversation was on of all things - Hair. yes Hair. but not just any hair. the men were talking about if the Womens Drapes (hair on her head) Matched her Carpet (hair on your personal parts).

Whoooo HA !

Talk About Deep, and Leaning - these men had me about to roll on the floor. so today we ask you

Ladies - Does Your House Have the Same Color Scheme, or are you doing a lil custom decorating ?

Amazingly the White men said that they didn't know the real color of their womens' hair until they saw her nude and in the shower. two of them said they didn't really know if it was all their womens hair after seeing the new wigs and clip in hair thing that's hitting the white beauty market finally. that's crazy. they said that All White Women Colored Their Hair. Somehow I doubt that.

Infact I'm curious to know how many of my Female Visitors Do Actually Color Your Hair

The Blackmen in the conversation said they were unsure of their womens hair peroid, as they wondered in lots of cases if the womens' hair Was Real or My Indian Hair - yessss,,,, Sistawomen We got the mens confuzzled.  the question of color with the Blackmen was simple - they assumed that with that much action going on up there; that there had to be color and something. most said that they expected the Black women to have hair that was similar to what they remember their moms' having naturally - underneath their hair.

What ? Underneath their hair ? apparently the men think that the women have two types of hair; which explains why they have no expectation as to the Carpet and Drapes matching. What the.. Had I known this about thirty fiiive years ago, I shoooo wouldn'ta took all them trips to the hairdresser to be initiated into the sisterhood of Miss Clairol.  actually it was Creme of Nature; since I am after all a woman of color.

one of the men commented on how he didn't know if all women had carpet these days since his wife didn't. apparently she's had it removed, or keeps "Her Floors Waxed" if you know what he means. Whew ! that's just too high maintanance to be real; or useful. and no she's not a supermodel but a suburban soccer mom.

I hope that you will spend a moment and give us a few clicks to figure out if there is a difference in how women of certain ethnicitys decorate. Some how I'm curious to see how many folks will answer such a personal question. even though it's clearly visible when you're on the chemicals. I admit that I do use the stuff myself, and probably will continue. the color change for me is all about accenting my Green and or Hazel eyes; and Light Brown skin. Somehow it just became a part of who I am.

Today We Need to Forget Ourselves; Others Are In Need

Who Deserves Human Rights?

EVERYONE DOES

care2 petitionsite actionAlert
With 80 percent of Haitians living in abject poverty, many children are forced to work against their will in homes, fields, gangs and as prostitutes. As many as 200,000 are the victims of human trafficking.

But there is a solution: microfinance. »

These children are driven into trafficking for economic reasons. Reducing poverty, therefore, would help stop this slave trade in children.

It's simple really: through microfinance, small loans enable hard-working women to open small businesses that let them feed and shelter their families. Just a few dollars a day in added income can mean children do not have to be forced into work. Instead, they can go to school and be healthy.

Former President Clinton is the UN Special Envoy to Haiti. At the top of his priorities is sustainable job creation. Tell him that there is no better way to protect Haiti's children and create sustainable jobs than microfinance. »

Thanks for taking action!

Atlanta, GA
The organized showing of Unity as a People, and the actions of distrainment, disgust, and protest start now....
Not JUST R Kelly, it is time to let the Music (Entertainment) Industry as a whole know we will no longer tolerate the disenfranchisement, degradation, and devaluing of Black women.
Let the protests, boycotts, and dialog begin!
We must once again operate under a strict code of accountability and responsibility.  We’ve allowed a stance of complacency to fester for far too long.  Our elders and ancestors would not be proud!
We have women and children to protect, and a great history and legacy to uphold.

IF WE DON’T PROTECT US WHO ELSE WILL?!
#########

BWDL has set forth efforts to very clearly, specifically identify and relentlessly “STEP TO” any of those in the music industry (man or woman alike) who have supported and perpetuated the exploitation of Afrikan women.  The intent is to collectively convey who they are and take action.  BWDL and all supporters intend to do that in EVERY WAY POSSIBLE.
The names of the top ten artists, record labels, companies, etc. that have made it a priority to create  and push the industry's stereotypic mind game and exploitive objectives, will be obtained by way of several polls conducted by the National MWM.  These identifications will be released at the May 2010 Summit.  MWM and BWDL will then begin the process and work to decrease the sales of these persons’ and/or companies’ concert tickets, CD's, clothing line products and so forth.
As mentioned above, before taking actions MWM, BWDL and their supporting communities we will be prepared to sit down with anyone to discuss this matter in a Village (extended family) and/or business manner; however, we will also be prepared to handle it in whatever way necessary.
The bottom line:  THE MADNESS HAS GOT TO END NOW, AND IT WILL!

Why is Political Correctness more important than Fact in this Hot Mess ?

She is Claiming Neither She or He - so how does this play out ?

Once we got over our loss of words - we actually came up with some clarity on this Hot Mess right here. this is a MAN - NO OVARIES, NO ESTROGEN; TESTES and TESTOSTERONE = MAN.

Lets stop the drama South Africa. just because you play head games do you think the rest of the world should subscribe to your idiot notions ? any physical examination would reveal that this is NOT A WOMAN. the DNA and the Hormonal tests have proven it, as well as the physical inspection. so give back the damn medal Caster.

You Ran with Women and You are a MAN

A Handsome Man so we can let it go there. you have been camped out in the womans locker rooms for years. just give the damn medal back and enter the race as a MAN, Which You Are.

Fact Is Caster Semenya is hermaphrodite;

yes both sets of DNA.. Are There

The Telegraph report said tests had found Semenya had no womb or ovaries - or Estrogen; but that she has internal testes, the male sexual organs which produce Testosterone, and her levels of that hormone are three times that of a 'normal' female.
doesn't the olympic committe have some experts on this, and some kind of precedent to set here ? wow, this is really reaching into a whole new area of sexism. does this mean that now we will see the third indicator box for hermaphrodite soon ?
when can a person deny their sex ? that's basically what's happening here
how does this effect the race, and her/his competitors ? there are so many questions on this one, that we are going to be watching with baited breath for the final word from the IOCC.  don't worry South Africa, we're not worried about you vamping on the entire world. so your threats are falling on deaf ears thankfully.

The real deal is that This GUY needs to Stop Competing As A Woman; and Against Women. and South Africa needs to accept the FACTS, and deal with their mismanagement of resources. they should require a physical inspection of the athletes before allowing them to compete; after this. most of us will remember the Russian and Eastern European Drug Scandals of the 70's. Lets Not Go There Again IOCC.

Inquiring Minds Globally want to know,

Caster Semenya of South Africa celebrates after winning the women's 800 metres final

South Africa Threatens Third World War over Caster Semenya Affair

By Wendell Roelf, Reuters

KLEINMOND, South Africa — South Africa reacted angrily on Friday to a report that tests on its world champion runner Caster Semenya had found she was a hermaphrodite, threatening a "third world war" over the affair.
Athletics' governing body declined to confirm the report in Australia's Daily Telegraph newspaper, which said the 18-year-old runner had both male and female sexual characteristics.
The IAAF said medical experts were examining the results of gender tests on Semenya, who won the women's 800 meters at last month's World Championships in Berlin. No decision would be taken until late November.
"I think it would be the third world war. We will go to the highest levels in contesting such a decision. I think it would be totally unfair and totally unjust," said Sports Minister Makhenkesi Stofile.
South African President Jacob Zuma decried the invasion of Semenya's privacy and what he called the violation of her rights, although neither he nor Stofile denied the report.
"I don't know why we should not respect the privilege between the doctor and the patient. Why, when the tests have been done, why was it published?" Zuma said.

The Telegraph report said tests had found Semenya had no womb or ovaries, but that she had internal testes, the male sexual organs which produce testosterone, and her levels of the hormone were three times that of a 'normal' female.
It said the IAAF was "ready to disqualify Semenya from future events and advise her to have immediate surgery because her condition carries grave health risks. They have also not ruled out stripping Semenya of her 800m world championships gold medal."
'SHOCK AND DISGUST'
Semenya, who was due to compete in a cross country race in Pretoria on Saturday, in her first competition since claiming the world title, withdrew from the event. Semenya's coach Michael Seme said that she was not "feeling well."
Stofile told a news conference his ministry had "noted with shock and disgust" media reports on the test results, which the South African government had not yet received.
"The issue here is that this girl has undesirable levels of testosterone -- what does it matter? That is neither here not there. She does not have a womb -- so what?," he said.
Nick Davies, spokesman for the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), said media reports on the gender test results should not be considered as official statements by the sports body.
"There is a (IAAF) Council on 21 November and this will be the opportunity to conclusively finalize a decision," he said.
Some South Africans have accused the IAAF of racism for ordering the gender tests on Semenya, saying her broad shoulders and imposing musculature are common in women's athletics.
The controversy may have touched a raw nerve in a country where race is still a highly sensitive issue after decades of apartheid, which ended in 1994.
The militant Youth League of South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) said in a statement: "Even if a test is done, the ANC YL will never accept the categorization of Caster Semenya as a hermaphrodite, because in South Africa and the entire world of sanity, such does not exist."

Jesus Said - Bring Me That Ass

This is for all the women who feel their thighs are too fat

Honey Be Happy - Them Cakes may save your life ..

and yes she does have an ad for Booty Be Bigger Pills..Uh Huh (side eye)

in the old days they called it Your Money Maker; apparently these days they've discovered that it's really your Lifesaver.

Have Mercy Ladies - Step Away From That Evil Stairmaster,

Model measuring thigh
The crucial measurement is taken just below the bottom
(bbcnews.com)
Men and women with thighs over 60cm (23.6in) in circumference have a lower risk of heart disease and early death, a study of 3,000 people suggests.
The relationship remains even when body fat, smoking and blood cholesterol are taken into account, a Danish team says.

Those with narrow thighs may not have enough muscle mass to deal with insulin properly, raising the risk of diabetes and, in turn, heart disease, they say.

Experts cautioned that the research needed corroborating.
Some said it was too early to change current advice on eating and exercise for heart health, but the researchers said thigh size could be used as a marker for at-risk patients.

The study, published in the British Medical Journal, followed men and women in Denmark for more than 10 years.

They were measured for height, weight and thigh, hip and waist circumference and their overall percentage of body fat was calculated.

It's a very simple, very crude measure but it seems to have an individual effect. And it may be a way for doctors to assess risk
Professor Berit Heitmann, Copenhagen University Hospital
The thigh measurement was taken just below the gluteal fold, which is the crease caused by your buttocks.

Researchers also looked at the activity levels of the participants, whether they smoked, their blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
They then monitored incidence of heart disease over 10 years and death rates over 12-and-a-half years.

'Crude measure'
During this time, 257 men and 155 women died, 263 men and 140 women developed cardiovascular disease and 103 men and 34 women suffered from heart disease.

The team at the Copenhagen University Hospital found that those with the smallest thighs - below 55cm - had twice the risk of early death or serious health problems.

Professor Berit Heitmann, who led the research, said: "The increased risk was independent of abdominal and general obesity and lifestyle and cardiovascular risk factors such as blood pressure.

"Additionally we found that the risk was more highly related to thigh circumference than to waist circumference.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR THIGHS
Go to a gym and train three times a week
Exercise all the muscles in your thighs
Use a weight you can only just lift 10 times in a row
Over 3 months you will increase thighs by 6% to 10%
Source: Loughborough University
"It's a very simple, very crude measure but it seems to have an individual effect. And it may be a way for doctors to assess risk.
"The nice thing is that if you have a small thigh you can do something about it through exercise."
Previous studies have suggested that a waist circumference of over 35in (88.9cm) for a woman and 40in (101.6cm) for a man indicated a high risk of developing diabetes and heart disease.
Professor Heitmann's team says the risk of narrow thighs could be associated with too little muscle mass.
They say this can lead to the body not responding to insulin properly, increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes and, in the long-run, heart disease.
Too little fat can also lead to adverse changes in the way the body breaks down food.

'Great news'

British Heart Foundation senior cardiac nurse Judy O'Sullivan said: "There is insufficient evidence to confirm that a low thigh circumference affects a person's risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
"However, low muscle mass is associated with low levels of physical activity which is an established risk factor for developing heart disease."

Tam Fry, of the National Obesity Forum, agreed that the research needed further corroboration, saying: "This is a very interesting and slightly counter-intuitive piece of work but it has to be respected because of the numbers looked at and the duration of the research.

"This must be great news for people with larger thighs. What I find fascinating is that researchers are now going back to the drawing board and looking for every possible way of mitigating obesity."

PSA: Let Us Come Together and Fix This, Please

How much do you really know about Human Trafficking ?

Would you recognize the signs of a slave if you saw them ? Do you know what You Can Do to help stop this inhumanity ?

Take a moment today, think of those who hide in plain site; those who are silent and in bondage; those who will never know freedom. Commit to knowing the truth about Human Trafficking - and why there are more slaves today, than at anytime in history.

We Know your heart will bleed when you think of those 3 and 4 year olds sold into a life of forced bondage and brutality; never to know the simple freedom of being able to just sit and play.
Child Sex Slaves are the fastest growing segment of the abused population. unbelievable.. even the constant police stings, television show dragnets and numerous talk show set ups don't seem to deter these crimes. Why ?

there are children in America who are slaves, yes.
The Internet is said to have increased pedophilia more quickly than at anytime in history. there are more new registered sexual predators than at anytime in history; and many of them are children themselves. these children are the collateral damage because they were more than likely abused themselves before they became abusers. international child sex rings have proliferated so quickly that law enforcement agencies are hard pressed to keep up with even a fraction of their traffic and trade in pictures, movies and other items of exploitation.

BadGals will spend this week focusing on the America that Loves. we start by Asking You to Share Some Love, and Help to Free the Slaves.
Next Installment - a little frank talk about why abuse happens netstyle. we point to some troubling trends and danger signs. we let you take the test and see if you're setting yourself up to be a victim of netsploitation.

If We Don't Talk About it Who Will ?

Pledge to help end human trafficking in the United States today. »

Human trafficking subjects victims to violence, fraud and coercion for sexual exploitation or other forced labor. Every year, there are hundreds of thousands of victims in the U.S. The traffickers buy and sell humans, often targeting homeless women and children, stripping them of all their freedom.

Hidden from sight there are dangerous predators -- pimps, gangs and pornographers. But thankfully you can help break down these brutal criminal networks and stop the violence of human trafficking by learning to identify victims and report incidents.
