Gentleman, a.k.a. Tilmann Otto, is Germany's reining king of Reggae. His debut album, "Trodin' On" (1999) laid the foundation for what would eventually be dubbed the "Germaican" movement and earned him an ECHO Award; the most coveted of all German music prizes. His 2004 single "Superior" was a worldwide reggae hit, landing on compilations in the U.S. and Europe and made a huge impact in the reggae scene earning him two nominations for Best New Reggae Artist in venues that emphasize reggae and Caribbean-influenced music: the Martin Awards in New York and the Reggae & Soca Awards in Miami. And he took home the 2005 Echo Award for best German artist. |
The longest, hardest, and most consistently working artist in the history of the Jamaican Music Industry is the Empress of Reggae music, the most Honorable Marcia Griffiths, OD, first Lady of Songs, Female Vocalist Supreme. She has toured the world as a member of the I-threes with Bob Marley and the Wailers. Subsequently as a soloist she hit the Billboard chart with "Electric Boogie Song" and created a world class dance, the Electric Slide. This super star has been recording and performing ceaselessly. |
