Our Sistern/Friend Tanya Mullings is up for a Juno Award. - the Global Reggae Community, and the Reggae Community in Canada is Ecstatic. Tanya is the daughter of the late Ken Mullings, a well known reggae producer, manager and promoter. Tanya has been singing since she was a little girl, and we knew that eventually she'd get all of her awards. she's received 21 awards up to this point; and there's no doubt she's due for many many more. Including that long sought after Grammy, her father promised she could earn.
Her Father Karl Mullings was a real legend in Reggae management. he helped put her career in the spotlight, before he passed away several years ago. This year Tanya stepped into a role that is familiar; yet new for her, by becoming a DJ on CHRY In Toronto. we know she's going to spin the music world on it's ear with her dual roles and passion for perfection.

This morning the 2010 Juno Nominees were announced in downtown Toronto.
Tanya Mullings received a nomination for Reggae Recording Of The Year.
This years awards will be hosted in St. Johns, NL
The 2010 celebrations in St. John’s will mark the 39th anniversary of the

About Tanya Mullings 2010 JUNO Nominee Reggae Recording Multi Award winning Canadian singer Tanya Mullings currently holds the title as "Most Improved Entertainer" for the 2009 International Reggae and World Music Awards, also "Top Female Artist" with the 2008 RMAA & "Top Reggae Album" (Music Is My Life)","Top Producer", and "Top Female Singer" with the 2007 CRMA. Internationally recognized Tanya has dedicated 21 years & 4 albums of work with the most prestigious producers in the industry covering all sub-genres of Reggae and Rhythm & Blues. Tanya’s career got underway in the late 80s. Surrounded by a plethora of musical sounds, she gravitated to the mellow strains of reggae infused jams popularly called lovers rock.
She’s had the pleasure of working with veterans such as Jack Scorpio, been voiced by the late great Alton Ellis on her first ever song. Her love for the music came from her father, the late Karl Mullings who managed her career along with other greats such as the late Jackie Mittoo, Lynn Taitt, Hopeton Lewis, and bands like The Fabulous Flames, The Cavaliers, The Sheiks, & The Cougars. Over the years Tanya has performed throughout the USA, Canada, England and the Caribbean where she has enjoyed a warm acceptance due to her solid musical delivery.
She performed on the 1992 Reggae Sunsplash in Montego Bay Jamaica, the 1993 Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica, 1996 Reggae Sumfest held at Chakka Cove in St. Anns Jamaica, 2005 & 2007 Montreal International Reggae Festival in Canada, 2007 Calgary International Reggae Festival in Canada, 2008 Irie Jamboree Roy Wilkins Park Queens New York , Brixton Academy London England, Madison Square Gardens New York City, Hard Rock Live Orlando FL, and Smile Jamaica TVJ.

She was nominated four times for the prestigious Juno Awards and was presented with the Citizens Award for the Arts by the City of Brampton in Ontario, Canada. In 2004 her hit songs ‘A Love Thang’ Produced by Multi Platinum producer Bobby “Digital” Dixon and ‘Love and Affection’, were featured on the television pilot “Da Kink In My Hair”, which was produced and directed by Tonya Lee Williams of the Young and the Restless, written by Trey Anthony and starring urban-entertainer Sheryl Lee Ralph.
On Feb. 5th, 2008 Tanya was featured in “Heart Beat” on Bravo! Canada. “Heart Beat” is a unique documentary series, which showcases Canadian-Caribbean musicians and explores the hearts, minds and worlds of Canada’s most dynamic musical creators. While Tanya was working on her fourth album with her father he’s passed away before it could be completed. But Tanya found the strength to complete the album along with the help of her great producers Multi-Platinum producers Bobby Digital Dixon, Dalton Browne and “Computer” Paul Henton , Morgan Heritage, Devonte, Patrick Roberts, Danny Browne, Byron Bobby Treasure, Robert "Dubwise" Browne and Dubmatix.
She dedicated it to her Father/Manager Karl Mullings, The CD also features artist such as Morgan Heritage, Tanto Metro, Craig T and Mega Banton. Tanya has reclaimed her spot at the top of the female reggae hierarchy when she released "Music Is My Life" that showcases her raw, indomitable talent, sultry, vibrant sound and demonstrates once again why she has enjoyed such ardent fan appeal and excitement with the dazzling yet potent spin that permeates her musical renditions.
