Troy Davis clemency denied! Please keep taking action, we have 1 day to stop the execution: http://bit.ly/troyaction
Georgia intends to execute Troy Davis on September 21 despite powerful doubts about his guilt. This is a letter we received tonite regarding the actions of the board. We need to ACT NOW to Prevent The Murder of an Innocent Man.
The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles has a moral responsibility and tonite they need to trust their hearts and hear that voice of question. There is no reason to Murder Another Innocent Man - because of doubts. Save Face by Saving a Life. Help Us to Prevent the Murder of Troy Davis at 7pm Tonite.
Dear Ankhesen,We're deeply saddened to have to report that the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole refused to grant clemency for Troy Davis earlier today. Their decision clears the way for Troy to be executed on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. It's a major setback in our fight to save Troy, but this isn't the end of the road. There are still three things we can do that might make a difference:1. Sign the petition demanding that the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole reconsider its decision and grant Troy clemency. It reads: "In the face of overwhelming evidence which indicates that Troy Davis may be innocent, justice demands that you immediately reconsider your decision in his case and grant Troy Davis clemency."2. Sign the petition to Chatham County District Attorney Larry Chisolm and Judge Penny Freesemann, which reads: "With no other barriers between Troy Davis and the death chamber, we call on you to take all necessary steps to stop Troy Davis' execution."3. Forward this email to your friends and family, and encourage them to take action. You will automatically sign the petitions by clicking the link below: http://act.colorofchange.org/sign/keepfightingTaking this action will automatically send your message to Chisolm and the Pardon Board, ensuring that they continue to hear the voices of Troy's supporters for as long as we can keep up the effort. To execute Troy Davis would clearly be unjust. As former Republican Representative Bob Barr wrote earlier today, "Imposing a death sentence on the skimpiest of evidence does not serve the interest of justice. The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles did not honor the standards of justice on which all Americans depend by granting clemency. In doing so, it will allow a man to be executed when we cannot be assured of his guilt."1 To execute Troy would go against the basic principles of the American criminal justice system. Please join us in calling on Georgia officials to uphold the values they were sworn to protect by stopping Troy Davis' execution. http://act.colorofchange.org/sign/keepfighting Thanks and Peace, -- Rashad, James, Gabriel, William, Dani, Matt, Natasha and the rest of the ColorOfChange.org team September 21st, 2011
The GBoPaP must remember that each day that they rise and look into the mirror of life, they will see their destiny. If they shorten their lives by murdering Troy Davis, we predict that each and every one of them will see their own lives crumble shortly thereafter; at their own hands. Karma is a well disciplined teacher and she never ignores your intentions.
Georgia We Urge You to Turn Back The Decision Now or Suffer For Your Mistakes Forever.
