The Letters From Santi Chacon: Artists Remember What You Write as a Public Figure IS YOU

We've decided to do a little promotions work for an artist who wrote us this week. no doubt if you spend the time to read all the way to the end you will hoot and holler at the outcome.
It seems so clear to us that everyone wants everything for free - what's up with that ? nothing is free, not even the air you breathe. everything that requires effort has a cost. be it physical, social or economic - there is a cost.

We've also noticed that when artists are entering a market without management and or counsel on their career; it seems they are under an impression that because they are releasing what they consider the next great masterpiece - everyone should drop everything and instantly feign total devotion to it.

Remember Jesus Walks ? Yeah Kanye surely does that's why he changed up his game so quickly.
The fact is, their music is not alone on that release day, ever. This is why artists like Beyonce and Kanye West plan their drops with the events that occur and correspond to their music. They actively seek out publicity, not repel it. Who could forget Kanye at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade after being booed just days before. that's what good PR is all about, working and airplay.

Even more so, artists who are serious about their careers, must learn to take every advantage and make it gold. Regardless of how small, it is an opportunity to be noticed apart from the crowd. This is how Amber Rose ended up becoming the hottest face of 2011. she didn't say a word, but she let her presence establish her place in the entertainment market. That's why she has a commercial endorsement from a major liquor manufacturer featuring a custom designed bot which looks unmistakably like Amber Rose.

That's how you work PR. every picture can help to put you in the spotlight for however long you use it properly. Amber Rose left Ford Modeling Agency and went straight to the top in a flash; after she learned how to work her PR game.

You just have to decide which way to step out of the crowd

Following this, is a conversation by email that we engaged in and just found it too hilarious to not share. No doubt this artist Santi Chacon will wish he had chosen his words more professionally; when this little gem circumnavigates the music networks and lists - like Linked-in where we received our first email from him.

From the way he ended the conversation after we had finished it - he forgot that his negatives might end up decorating one of google' s dark corners, With His Name On It.

This conversation has not been doctored in any fashion. it is re-posted exactly as written; and commented outside of the original to retain the flow and clarity.

Get yourself a nice fatty and a cool drink to enjoy with our friday Whether Report. todays question is Whether or Not he realized that we'd actually still publish the piece we offered to do.

Hmmmmm..... Inquiring Minds Surely Want to Know

This is the Beginning of the exchange between Myself and Santi Chacon

FYI, we have at least 1500 new submissions weekly from all over the music genre. we play what works in our format. when we take the time to do a special on an artist, it's because we see potential in that artist that we'd like to showcase to our listening audience.
We graciously extended our offer of a special written about you. However you seem to be uninterested and that's not a problem for us.
we want you to see it from the viewpoint of our visitors - they want new material; which is worthy of their time and interest. That is why after seeing one of our YouTube videos asking 5 simple questions - the Prime Minister of Jamaica stepped down a few weeks ago. This was following one of our three year investigations and revelations to our audience and Jamaica about his secret deeds while in office. - see Tivoli Stories.
We are consistent in quality; Always. This is how we've continued to grow and maintain our large and diverse subscriber/listener population since 1999.
This is the response from Santi Chacon - which is where the issue begins

I was simply extending this as a courtesy to you.

As a Radio Station - we ask support of those whos' music we promote, if they desire Long-Term Promotion. That's what You asked for. You wrote us and asked to put Your Widget on Our Site, Remember ? No doubt you realize that Mercedes Benz, BMW, Porsche and the others pay us for the space they take up - and so do the artists/record companies who advertise with us. we limit our artist ads to three and that's because we choose very carefully what we'd like our reputation linked to. many ask but most are refused. Honestly after considering your response to us, we think that you should survey the other stations that you have relationships with for FREE space. No doubt you'll find it and we hope it works out for you. We wish you the best in your career, Regards, ~RE Ausetkmt Owner and Publisher

This is the final reply from Santi Chacon to a dead conversation which wasn't even signed - sad indeed..

You seem to have forgot that you wrote the following email address so i was giving you an alternative: But the back and forth seems very unprofessional. I have a ton more offers in regards to airing my music. Please don't email back.
Artists, Please take a wee bit of advice from an industry professional - NEVER EVER EVER EVERRRRR DO WHAT Santi Chacon has done. His total demeanor and lack of ability to comprehend his own request to us; makes it clear that he needs guidance away from negative promotion.

One of the first things you do when you want help is ask for help genuinely as possible. when you get an offer, you take it. every small step is a step forward. Instead Santi Chacon made the mistake of directly working backwards; because of his ego. Ego is something that ends alot of great careers before the artists are able to accomplish enough in the music market to get a royalty. Think Vybz Kartel. He gets his money from his sales of Rum; Condoms; and now Bleaching Soap. none of these products is related to a music royalty.

Go to your favorite brick and mortar record store and ask for Vybz Kartel; or even ask your favorite radio station to play him. Yeah..

You see the music business is a very strange and touchy feely place. so basically if you are looking to get ahead in that arena, you need to be ready to be both touched and felt out. Obviously Santi Chacon wasn't.

We still wish him well, however you won't be hearing anything from him on BadGalsRadio.com. mostly because None of His Music is Even Released.
So you see folks, this fracas was all about Unreleased, Unmixed music, from an artist whos' still showing us that he's not sure what he's doing.
Artists - Please have music when you ask folks to play it, and be ready to accept any help you get; because most folks don't bother to help new artists at all.

Here on BadGalsRadio.com you've seen us break new artists music over and over. most of those artists go on to bigger and better things. This is what we hoped for Santi Chacon, however he seems reluctant to accept reality. We simply wanted him to know that we're willing to promote him in anyway that he desires. even by showing his exact words.

Artists Remember What You Write as a public figure IS YOU

This is good advice for Artist on how it goes down and Why You Gotta Be YOU if You Wanna Be Recognized. You have to call your shots and plan your steps. Never let your dream become clouded by your lack of commitment to it. Put your whole YOU into it, and then show us what you're working with.

Now Hol Dat
