New IRIN film - "Slum Survivors" released

-------- Original Message --------

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Worldwide more than a billion people live in slums with as many as a
million of them in the Kenyan slum of Kibera.

IRINs award winning film unit is pleased to announce the release of
"Slum Survivors" the latest of its documentary films. This compelling 42
minute film tells the stories of a few of Kibera's residents and charts
their struggle in the face of extreme poverty.

As with all IRIN Films, the aim is to increase awareness and
understanding of humanitarian crises and to assist fellow humanitarian
actors in their advocacy efforts. As a humanitarian news agency IRIN
specializes in the creation of advocacy tools but remains dependant on
its partners for the dissemination of these messages.

While we will endeavour to meet demand, we cannot guarantee that we will
be able to provide copies to all who request them.
