Today we are asking you to take a moment and use twitter as a social activist. Children everywhere in America are in danger of childhood diseases that had been in check until recently. We are asking you to partner with us and the One campaign and Tweet for the Kids Today.

When We received this letter this morning from ONE we hoped that it would get your attention too.Children should not be the victims of partisan politics. Tell Washington that You Think Kids Deserve Shots; instead them of spending more money on the Overfunded Military and Bullets.

Please if you Twitter Today - Be Sure to TWEET the Whitehouse for Children Today. They Really Need Your 140 Characters.

Dear ONE Member,

We all know the White House is wired. They write lots of blog posts. They do cool videos with whiteboards. And they definitely love to tweet (and retweet).

So imagine if today, ONE’s (nearly) half a million Twitter followers all tweeted @whitehouse with a message about childhood vaccines and their awesome lifesaving potential? That's 140 characters that would be impossible to ignore.

I'm about to tweet my message at President Obama: @WhiteHouse, got plans on June 13? Why not pledge to save 4m kids w/vaccines? Plz respond!

Will you tweet at him right now, too?

http://www.one.org/us/actnow/vaccines2011/tweet/index.php?id=2338-5406642-kwO4qdx&t=1

It’s been a super busy few weeks. Hundreds of thousands of you have signed the vaccines petition. Thousands of you have called the White House in support of vaccines for kids in the world’s poorest countries.

Now it’s time to pull out all the stops.

When you click the link below, you'll be able to send President Obama a tweet with just the tap of a button. And if that weren't easy enough, your tweet will then instantly pop up on our cool interactive map, where you'll be able to see your friends’ tweets from around the country.

Tweet at the White House with your vaccines message today:

http://www.one.org/us/actnow/vaccines2011/tweet/index.php?id=2338-5406642-kwO4qdx&t=3

AMERICA ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION TO WHO YOU WALK BY ON THE STREET ?

Today is National Homeless Persons Memorial Day - we choose Invisible People Tv to speak for us today.

We know that you don't like the Homelessness in America, so we ask you to Remind Your Legislators that Today Homelessness Needs to End.

Lastweek we saw rich dc politicians arguing about a tax bill for the 99ers' and families which recently lost their only income - Unemployment Benefits. They are arguing about helping Feed America, and Give it a Home - after these very same Americans Paid Taxes. How can you deny a person help when they've paid taxes ?

Isn't it time we asked our Rich Politicans How They Do That ?

The real american version of the tax incentive bill was not passed, because the Rich Republicans needed a Bigger Piece of the Pie - FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY RICH.
Today we ask - If Politicians can give huge tax breaks to the rich, why not just a few dollars for the Homelesss ?

Remember it is our hearts that heat the world

I got a letter earlier today from my friend Erin from the Womens' Refugee Commission. They've long been on a global quest to bring safer cooking stoves to women around the globe.  most of the problems women and their children face are from poor living conditions; such as only having a charcoal stove for heating and cooking.  in case you don't know, charcoal coats the lungs like it does their houses.  the children get lung disease and tuberculosis just like their mothers. Mainly because many of them are strapped to their moms, backs while she is working over that charcoal stove.

They are the Youngest Casualties, and we should start helping to prevent these casualties, today.
There are safer stoves and methods of cooking and heating for these families.  are you aware that a parabolic reflector stove can be used in many of these situations without any damage to the people or the planet ?

Americans Arrested; caught with Haitian Kids at border of the DR

Special Envoy for Haiti Gives Interview Outsid...

Last Week when we blogged about the Children of Haiti and their Dangerous circumstances; little did we know that we were uncovering the tip of the iceberg.  the 33 children were recovered and the americans now have to answer for their actions; in a haitian jail.

We hope that Everyone realizes that this is not a time to ignore the plight of children who are always societies most vunerable victims.  we need to keep asking questions and watching what is happening to these children. if we don't watch today, tomorrow we won't know.

Please Tell Us, how do little children fit into the Glenn Beck drama ?

why are we teaching our children to be fearful of praising the good works they see ?

when we read this story earlier it was appalling to see how these children are being made pawns of stupidity. how do little children fit into the glenn beck drama ? it appears the kids made a little video singing during a celebration at their school; presented it to an author of a childrens book on Barack Obama as a gift; and her pr people capitalized on the kids cuteness factor and put them on YouTube.

What are these kids doing wrong ?

YouTube seems to be getting the rep as the place you find anything to use to stick someone else in the eye with. but why kids and why now ?

the tune is "Jesus Loves the Little Children" and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" Why is this wrong ?

apparently when they (the political pootbutts) discovered the video it had been up for months, and the becks' folks just discovered it.

Utterly amazing, they are searching for kids videos now to use as fodder in their war of stupidity

Glenn Beck has turned a page in our nations political history, with his step to a lower level. he thinks kids should be used as tools. how crass and totally idiotic. the kids are not praising any political party or actions; they are only singing about their president, much as other kids have done about other presidents of this very nation.

anything that comes up about Barack Obama seems to make Glenn Beck believe he is writing a new page in history. but who's going to read that misinformation and get anything usable out of it ? we doubt anyone who can read the news in comparison, will know that this is a lame attempt to remain in the media - by a personality with little appeal and less common sense.

Glenn Beck take your finger out of your nose and go sit down somewhere,

Scrutiny rises over NJ kids singing Obama song

By GEOFF MULVIHILL

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - A school for kindergartners through second-graders in a comfortable Philadelphia suburb has become the latest target of accusations by conservatives that schoolchildren are being indoctrinated to idolize President Barack Obama.

The controversy grows out of a school assembly during Black History Month in February, when gripes about the freshly inaugurated president were still mostly hushed.
That month, a group of smiley and fidgety students at B. Bernice Young School sang a medley of two short songs praising the president.

The first song begins, "Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama/He said that all must lend a hand/To make this country strong again."

The second one was set to "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and included the refrain, "Hooray, Mr. President."

While the performance is seven months old, the outrage is new and came about because of the discovery of a YouTube video.

It's been fodder for conservative opinion leaders such as columnist and blogger Michelle Malkin and Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck.

The notion that schoolchildren are being subjected to partisan politics rather than taught civics emerged earlier this month before an Obama speech to students was played in thousands of schools.

By then, unlike February, there was broader mistrust of Obama, particularly over his health insurance overhaul plans. Concerns that he would use his speech to students as a political tool grew partly because the White House initially released a lesson plan encouraging students to "help the president."

The plan was revised and the message to students was not overtly political.
News about the song brought a quick response from New Jersey's Department of Education. Spokeswoman Beth Auerswald said the department wants "to ensure students can celebrate the achievements of African Americans during Black History Month without inappropriate partisan politics in the classroom."

Auerswald said the state would also look into whether posting the video online violated the privacy of students.

Superintendent Christopher Manno defended the performance in Friday's editions of the Burlington County Times.

"There was no intention to indoctrinate children," he said. "The teacher's intention was to engage the children in an activity to recognize famous and accomplished African Americans."
He said he would not identify the teacher who led the song. State education officials said she retired at the end of the last school year.

The source of the video is not entirely clear. In Malkin's column, she said it was posted in June on the YouTube channel of author Charisse Carney-Nunes, who wrote the children's book "I Am Barack Obama."

The song medley was presented to Carney-Nunes, who had been invited to the school, as a demonstration of a project the children had put together, her public relations firm said in a statement.

"Charisse feels it is unfortunate that an event put together with sincere intentions to encourage literacy while celebrating the contributions of African Americans to our great nation has become political fodder and hopes cooler heads will prevail," the hoverFly media statement said.
The video was ubiquitous online Friday but was not listed under Carney-Nunes' feed.
Officials at the Burlington Township Board of Education did not return calls Friday to discuss the incident or how much public response it received, and the district's Web site was not available.
Leslie Gibson, the mother of a kindergartner and a second-grader, said the incident was not addressed in Thursday evening's back-to-school assembly.

Gibson said that while parents had different views about how problematic the song may have been, one thing was unanimous: They don't like having television trucks and reporters camped out on the streets near the school.

Friday afternoon, there were two police cars posted outside the building.
There wasn't much protest, though. One man, Chris Concannon, from nearby Magnolia, was outside hoping to speak with school officials about what happened.
"It's just like the Hitler Youth all over again," said Concannon, an unemployed 26-year-old former National Guardsman. "They should be learning history, but instead they're being taught to worship the president."

Got Cookies ? it;'s Thirsty Thursday and Bill Clintons' Serving it Up

haitian child shows his tongue after eating dirt cookies - his meal for the day

Why Does His Tongue look Dirty - because he's just eaten DIRT, His ONLY MEAL For The Day

Dirt Cookies are presently what the people of Haiti have been reduced to eating as they struggle under A Club of Paris Vampire Debt System. Bill Clinton has taken the UN to task on their empty promises to Haiti. now it appears that once again he is tossin their salad, and asking them to Kiss Haiti's Ass. it's about time they quit lyin and started living up to their word.

Haitis' economy was ruined by the US and it's Paris Club associates. after colonialism and slavery, Haiti has never been allowed to have free control of it's economy or social and governmental issues. there has always been an outside influence forcing the government one way or another one.

do you remember Aristide ?
We remember him and we also know Renee Preval.

The Haitian People are who we don't know and maybe it's time we did.
The next time you give your Kids a Cookie - Think of the Hatian Child Above
with only DIRT COOKIES;

Just a Thought on todays Hungry and Thirsty Thursday,
and yes Bill Clinton is Serving it up to the World.

UN envoy Bill Clinton chides donors over Haiti aid

September 10, 2009 Reuters.com - Louis Charbonneau

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) -- Haiti has kept its promise to build a government but donor nations have failed to deliver the aid they pledged to the poorest country in the western hemisphere, Bill Clinton said on Wednesday.
Former US President Bill Clinton, United Nations Special Envoy for Haiti, addresses the Security Council as he gives a report on the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti at UN headquarters in New York. AFP PHOTO

"They've only gotten a pittance of the aid that was pledged to them," Clinton, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's special envoy to Haiti, told reporters after addressing a meeting of the Security Council on the Caribbean nation.

"A lot of that is part of the appropriations process that plays out in the latter half of every year," the former US president said. "But we can't get to January with only $21 million of over $760 million in commitments disbursed down there (in Haiti)."

"We've got to get the show on the road," Clinton added.

Clinton said Haiti has been delivering on promises to stabilize the country.

"They did what they were supposed to do," he said. "They've got a functioning political system. The legislature's working with the executive branch. They've got a good government there. ... They need the rest of us to do more."

US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice told the Security Council that "real gains have been made to improve security in Haiti.

"But we are acutely aware of the potential threats, including transnational crime, gang violence and civil unrest," she told the 15-nation council.

Clinton added that he hoped to boost private investment in Haiti. But the success of private investment projects, he said, will depend on donor nations living up to their aid commitments so Haitians can continue to improve their infrastructure.

Devastating hurricanes caused an estimated $1 billion of damage last year, while the global financial crisis brought a sharp reduction in remittances vital to many Haitian families.

Ban has also urged donor countries to be generous to Haiti. He has been influenced by a report by British academic Paul Collier which said that if Haiti could improve its roads and ports, it was well-placed to benefit from low labor costs and duty-free access it enjoys to the US market.

UN officials say that security has improved dramatically in Haiti, where just a few years ago large areas were controlled by heavily armed gangs that killed, kidnapped and raped with impunity.

After decades of dictatorship and military coups, Haiti's civilian police force was created just 15 years ago, when its army was disbanded. The UN peacekeeping mission known as MINUSTAH, made up of 7,000 soldiers and 2,000 police, has worked to help stabilize Haiti since its last revolt in 2004

Do you think an 11year old girl should be called a Whore ?

If You Heard these words, what would you think ?
"A typical street whore." "A bunch of ghetto thugs." "Ghetto street trash." "Wonder when she will get her first abortion."
This is what someone said about 11 year old Malia Obama.

Republicans have stretched the line about as far as it can go to do this. there is no way this can be defended - no way.

the amount of attention these kids get is unbelievable; especially with them being pre teens and always on apparently their best behaviour. their mom and dad expect no less, I am sure. you can look at them as a family and tell that those girls have manners. they wouldn't say these things I don't think, so

I wonder why some adult could fix their mouth to say such nasty things about a lil girl, who they don't even know.

Now How Would You Feel, if someone Said This About Your 11 Year Old Who They Didn't Know ?

Comments Please, I am really curious to hear your opinions on this,

"A typical street whore." "A bunch of ghetto thugs." "Ghetto street trash." "Wonder when she will get her first abortion."

These are a small selection of some of the racially-charged comments posted to the conservative 'Free Republic' blog Thursday, aimed at U.S. President Barack Obama's 11-year-old daughter Malia after she was photographed wearing a t-shirt with a peace sign on the front.

The thread was accompanied by a photo of Michelle Obama speaking to Malia that featured the caption, "To entertain her daughter, Michelle Obama loves to make monkey sounds."

Though this may sound like the sort of thing one might read on an Aryan Nation or white power website, they actually appeared on what is commonly considered one of the prime online locations for U.S. Conservative grassroots political discussion and organizing - and for a short time, the comments seemed to have the okay of site administrators.

Moderators of the blog left the comments - and commenters - in place until a complaint was lodged by a writer doing research on the conservative movement, almost a full day later.
"Could you imagine what world leaders must be thinking seeing this kind of street trash and that we paid for this kind of street ghetto trash to go over there?" wrote one commenter.
"They make me sick .... The whole family... mammy, pappy, the free loadin' mammy-in-law, the misguided chillin', and especially 'lil cuz... This is not the America I want representin' my peeps," wrote another.
Such was the onslaught of derision on the site that the person who originally complained about the slurs, who goes by the nickname 'CatM', claimed on the left-wing DailyKos.com website that only one comment in the first hundred posted actually criticized the remarks as inappropriate.

A note on the front of Free Republic reads, "Free Republic does not advocate or condone racism, violence, rebellion, secession, or an overthrow of the government," but one comment on the thread read, "This disgusting display makes me more and more eager for the revolution," while another read, "I never actually wnated [sic] to be a pistol before but..."

After attention from other blogs, the thread was suppressed and placed under review, but before long it was returned to the site intact, and attracted a new series of racial slurs when the original complaint email was posted publicly to the site, with the sender's email address intact.
"The writer has a point," wrote site owner Jim Robinson sarcastically. "We should steer clear of Obama's children. They can't help it if their old man is an American-hating Marxist pig."
"I agree Jim," wrote commenter, by the nickname NoobRep. "The kids didn't pick their commie pinko pansy of a father. Nor did they choose to be put into the spotlight. But Obama/Soetoro is fair game and so is his witch of a wife."
"Poor kids. I hope they're not 'punished with a baby'," wrote another. "Hopefully they won't deal cocaine like the Kenyan."
"DIRTBAGS! All of them. Our [White House] is now a joke to the rest of the world. We have no respect and this is not going to turn out well, mark my words. We will be hit, and much worse than last time. We are now seen as weak and vulnerable. Ghetto and Chicago thugs have taken over."
Only after significant negative attention from a host of left wing political blogs did the maintainers of the Free Republic site place the thread under review for a second time, before finally pulling it.

In the wake of the controversy, some Free Republic posters complained about the vitriol.

One poster by the name of "fullchroma" wrote, "To Jim Robinson: The recent uptick here in racist vitriol, aimed at Barrack, Michelle and their children has made me wonder if I belong. My objection to Obama has nothing to do with skin tone. Is the ugly stereotype of Conservative racism true?"
Another, going by the name of TChris, wrote, "Free Republic is a political discussion forum. It SHOULD be beneath us as a group to stoop to such juvenile tactics as I see increasing here lately. Do we REALLY have to insult Mrs. Obama's appearance like a clique of nasty 14-year-old girls?"
But such opinions were not shared by all. Said Roses of Sharon, "Poor libs .... Too late, the battle has been joined."

NOTE: A screen capture of the entire thread has been saved here.

Ernest Hammond, 70, on pending FEMA trailer evictions

a fema trailer in front of a house devestated by hurricane katrina

Dear KIN Folk,

FEMA is at it again and we need your help.

The agency has announced that on May 30, 2009, it will act to evict thousands of residents from FEMA trailers in the Gulf States in spite of the fact that these residents have had limited support and lots of barriers in their efforts to find permanent housing.

Please act now to stop this travesty.

Mr. Ernest Hammond is a case in point. Hammond, a 70 year old, former New Orleans homeowner, could not get financial help from Louisiana's Road Home program for his triplex since the housing structure was ineligible for a grant. To help himself, Mr. Hammond has collected almost $10,000 in aluminum cans but that won't even begin to cover the costs to rebuild his home in the 7th Ward. His FEMA trailer is keeping him off the street while he struggles to return home.

Mr. Hammond is one of thousands of families living in FEMA trailers because they are either caught in a web of deeply flawed, bureaucratic home repair grant programs, a victim of all too rampant contractor fraud or simply priced out of a rising rental markets where affordable housing is being demolished or gentrified.

No one chooses to live in a FEMA trailer, but it is better than no home at all. Evicting residents without providing access to safe, permanent housing will only lead to homelessness and further destabilize families.

Thursday, May 28th is a National Day of Action organized by the US Human Rights Network to turn this around. Together, we helped keep survivors off the streets. Please take a minute to click and send an email or make a call to let the Administration know that evictions are a bad idea.

Tell President Obama and Congress to extend the May 30th FEMA trailer program deadline!

Say NO to FEMA's decision to forcibly evict residents from trailers!

Tell President Obama and FEMA that they must stop FEMA's plan to forcefully evict Gulf Region residents from temporary trailers.

The Facts:

  • Nearly 5,000 FEMA trailers continue to provide housing to residents displaced by Hurricane Katrina

    • 2,800 FEMA trailers in Louisiana, with 1, 000 trailers located in Orleans Parish, LA

    • 2,000 FEMA trailers in Mississippi

  • Most FEMA trailer occupants are elderly and/or disabled persons in desperate need of effective support and case management services to stabilize their housing and wellbeing.

  • FEMA trailer occupants are displaced homeowners and renters still struggling to rebuild their homes or secure affordable housing after Katrina and Rita.

an elder who didn't get assistance after hurricane katrina, without a trailer living in an open house

Human Rights Begins at Home!

The United Nations' Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement is a human rights policy that, for several years, has guided our government in providing temporary and permanent homes for people in foreign countries displaced by earthquakes, typhoons, and flooding. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton only recently announced that the U.S. will apply the UN's standards to assist displaced persons in Pakistan.

Please act now to stop this travesty.

Hurricane Katrina displaced over a million people, many of whom have yet to fully recover as a result of governmental actions that are contrary to the UN's standards and human rights treaties ratified in the US. Gulf Region residents, both renters and homeowners, have worked tirelessly to access safe, permanent housing, and should have the support that our government provides to foreign countries under the Guiding Principles.

Abrupt removal of residents from their only source of shelter is unacceptable!

Hold our elected leaders to their promise of Gulf Region recovery, and demand equal protection under the same human rights policy that the U.S. government applies to displaced persons in other countries.

Tell FEMA to provide an extension to all homeowners and renters living in FEMA trailers to allow them sufficient time to repair their homes and/or find alternative housing.

Additional time would allow:

  • Louisiana homeowners to appeal denials of Road Home grants, or go to a Road Home closing.

  • Mississippi homeowners to be matched with available Katrina cottages that sit idle.

  • Renters more time to obtain rental assistance or other permanent affordable housing.

Demand Action Now!

Call the Obama Administration and FEMA to demand action now! Tell our government not to carry forward yesterday's short-sighted policies and to apply the same human rights standards to displaced persons in the Gulf States. Demand a stop to the FEMA trailer deadline and the guarantee of safe, permanent housing in the Gulf Region.

Thank you for making a difference and please forward this note to others. Our voices matter.
