Somehow I just don't feel like a beer today.. I've Got Amnesia coming at 6

This is the video from the officers of cambridge mass in support of their fellow officer sgt crowley. the female who speaks, makes me want to slap my monitor. I will stop there as I am sure everyone will have their own opinion of this little demonstration and exercise in "Can't We All Just Get Along-ism". why didn't they just start singing "kum baya"

later this evening, the president - professor gates and sgt crowley are said to be sitting down to discuss the episode over a beer. the entire episode has now turned itself inside out; and the victim is now the attacker.

I am still not feeling this fake commiseration because the episode that occured, cannot be resolved with simply a bottle of beer. Glen Beck is on tv calling the president a racist; and we tolerate that bs ?

why do we now need amnesia when we can see what led to this ? why not really talk about the problem HONESTLY; and work on a REAL Solution. Lets work out a way for this bs to never ever happen to Anyone Ever Again in America.

Sometimes The Media can be a very bad influence on Reality; as we can see from this case.

Caribana Trash Out.. Literally - Get Your Free Guide Here

Caribana is a stinker this year - oh yes it is. why you ask - Trash In The Streets, Literally.

Toronto has a  trash problem; and it's put a damper on the party because the trash is making it's appearance all over the provence.  we saw it in windsor when we went over a few days ago, and it's riiiiiiipe ta-ras mi tell unnu. the smell of old garbage sitting in the street for weeks, in the hot sun; having been rained on for weeks. well it's undescribable Thank Jah we had ac and could roll up the windows of the car to block it out, till we got out of the area, where it was piled up high -  On the main street, Oullette.

We Love Caribana and all festivals that celebrate the heritage of the caribbean. this is the website of Caribana 2009, which shows you what's happening this year, at the month long festival - in Toronto.

They Say regardless of the trash, Caribana will go on as planned.  I just wonder who's going to clean up after the party of approximately one million revelers ?

Just think, the trash of one million people; ontop of the refuse of the past almost two months of Torontonians .. MESS, STINK and Health Hazzard.

Somebody needs to get to the bottom of this trash strike, and quick.  our friends at the Toronto City Blog have been documenting the trash strike, and we've followed it through their photojournal. it's a tremendous mess. I love Toronto and this mess makes it seem like such a dirty place.  when I went to undergrad school at McGill I loved the area and planned on moving back one day - but if the trash problems are like this, hey who will be there at all eventually ?

Listen you Govenment Folks - Toronto, and Ontario Needs To Clean Up The Trash Handler's Issues and Get This Trash Picked Up NOW.  that is all, now carry on.

take a look at this from Today

Toronto’s annual Caribana, which began July 14, is said to attract $300 million in revenue to the city. This year’s event, however, has forced some changes that leave the remaining days of the festival and its overall success uncertain. The 24,000 unionized sanitation employees and other city workers have reportedly forced Toronto’s tourist bureau to scale back its promo efforts. City officials fear embarrassment before visitors, who often travel from throughout the world to attend the event.

Pungent trash has polluted much of the air floating around Caribana’s rhythmic steel drum lines, curvy dancers and colorful costumes in the weeks since late June when strikers stopped collecting garbage. Mayor David Miller says litter is making the problem worse.

“It is becoming clear that there is a small group of people that are taking advantage of this strike to use Toronto as their personal dumping ground,” Miller recently told media. “This is not and should not be acceptable to any of us. I would ask people to be patient.”

Reports vary among opposing sides about the progress in contract negotiations.

The strike has already forced Caribana to re-locate its kick-off from Nathan Phillips Square to Yonge Street and Dundas Square for the first time in its decades-long history. Formally known as the Scotiabank Caribana Festival, the event’s King and Queen of the Bands competition has organizers nervous since it’s due to happen July 30 at a city-staffed venue. But an even bigger issue if the strike is not resolved will be the mess left behind from an expected 1 million observers of the Caribana Parade on Aug. 1.

Residents, business owners, city workers and officials all agree that it would be a funky situation.

Jaaaane stop this crazy thiiiingggg

On Sundays we enjoy pondering many things; especially while we grocery shop and drive place to place doing our errands. this switch seeemed like something we could use around Entrecard these days.. I know.. I'm soooo baaaadddd. but somebody had to say it; so why not me, as usual.

Being that I'm a boomer, I love Ms. Jane Jetson. she does after all represent me. So For Today -  I'll Adopt My Ms Jane, and believe me - Ms Jane is NOT Amused with Entrecard; being that this is the future of blogging and all that other *grahamtoric.

The central theme today is still Entrecard. We wrote a piece today on EntrePOD all about the Pink Ribbon we have on our dashboard for this site.  and before you ask, it's Not For Decoration Daisy.

As All Of You Know Our friend Ms Daisy the curly cat starts all kinds of fashion trends on entrecard; (and we don't want her thinking we're tryin somethin on our own over here).

"Oh No Daisy,, it wasn't for decorating US. I Knoww.. A Totally Crazy Waste of Pink." (smh)

in the interest of time, I'll just repost it instead of linking to it.

Before I get started, let me say that this is just my experience as of recent;  and it is not hopefully an indication of the present state of Entrecard; nor a statement of what may become of Entrecard in the future.

several days ago, all of our sites were struck with a redirect bug. the bug worked it’s way across our self hosted platform of 4 blogs; as well as into our blogger hosted blog - BadGalSays. 5 blogs at once.

well in typical fastdraw fashion Entrecard posted a warning ribbon on my dashboard. I must admit the pretty pink was quite entertaining the first couple times I saw it; but as the problem has long been remedied and fixed – and I’ve contacted them to confirm the fix – Ms Jane wants to know why is it still there ?

Interesting indeed ..
Your blog currently has a “redirect” on it that sends users to a different site. Please review and correct the problem. Thank you.

Okay so I’ve written them more than 10 times to ask them to remove the ribbon; since I’ve rebuilt the site in question, sanitized it and it’s now working flawlessly - As You The Reader Can See.

This weekend while dropping ec's I’ve noticed several blogs, who are complaining of similar problems; for extended peroids of time as well. Ohh OOOOOOhhhhh This Is Noooot Goooood for a start up management co. who seemed eager to put Entrecard Back On It's Upright Legs. makes you wonder if they're at the beach with Graham..

obtw we add a new entrephrase to our vast list "grahamtoric"
Grahamtoric: Rhetoric used on Entrecarders; by it's inventor Graham Langdon.

this leads us to ask the question – is anybody minding the store really ?

Helloooooooooo Entrecard,,, Fo Real Doh, Is Anybody Hooommmeeeee ???????????????????

re sig Hellooooo Entrecard, Is Anybody Hoooooommeeeee ?

Welcome Back to the Clean and Disinfected BadGalSays

Welcome, yes welcome..
I think that goes without saying. I'm sure you're saying to yourself.. Hmmm.. wonder when she did all this ?

welllllllll when the gremlins gave themselves priority I had to take it and put it into action. it's 330am Friday
and I began working on the problems with the four effected blogs on Thursday at about 300pm - yeah..

So to put it short and sweet, Welcome.
how do you like the new look ? is it appealing to the eye ? ergonomic enough ? easy to find what you want ? is anything missing ? since this is the moving in peroid and the template is still looking for corrections, we're asking for your help to fix our faux paus; before monday.

So Tell Us, Whadya Think ?

More on the Redirect - Where did it start ?

Just So You Know...
I am the target of  some stupidity presently.
Why ?Well when you find out, tell me because I am not enjoying
finding 5 Websites All Hit With the same Redirect Bug.

I am working as fast as I can; Blogsite by site to change the templates
and try to find the bad file and fix it.  when you find an index.php
file which has been tampered with - you know that it's not your fault.

This is the work of some very small minded person,
and I hope that they see this and understand that I am
sending them ten times the karmatic energy that they sent to me.

Yes You Ass - Ten Times to You Anything YOU Wish To ME.

hopefully I will have my sites all cleaned up by tomorrow and reopened.

Please know that whatever this is - I have nothing to do with it.

I have more facts to add to the picture

this all started yesterday from the log
this is where the first site sent me   // - q.php

Very Interesting since I never searched for anything loan related.

ooookkkkkk,,, next on the history list is this site which followed next in the history list

aaahhhhhh again we see this Fast Easy Loan.  the referal and affiliate info are shown so that gives us something to work with when we contact these companies.  oh certainly we will be contacting them.

then we hit this site which seems to be the referring site to these sites listed above - a spamhouse no doubt.
look at this - Yellowpages.. aaahhh we're getting somewhere now. they have money, so filing a claim against them is possible. ;)

This is the site which starts the chain of events - this is where we think it originally started, but it's hard to say as this site is non reachable directly. even blocking them in my browser didn't stop the redirect. Deep..

Again we have this eclick to buy business and fast easy loan. Get It ? I Do.

Somewhere on my surfing adventure I picked up this lil friend - so All My Friends are now being mistreated by these mischieveous assholes. not nice at all.

Something tells me that if I keep looking I'll locate the source of this Whole Problem...
Hmmmm, what do you think - should we keep looking ?  I Think So,

Ah Ha ! we downloaded a theme the other nite when we couldn't fix a problem with ours. well the trail starts there to the outside. this is after I was done dropping so I am basically ruling out any of the sites I visited on my card dropping on Wednesday 07/22/09.

so one way or another this must be the source of the start of the problem.
it spread someway from our editing and writing to each of the blogs we worked on.
Strange Indeed.  we shut down greasemonkey tonite to find out which pages are effected.
the redirect is on this page still - but all the others seem to be free of it.

tonite I change this template as I've already done of my three other effected blogs. yes three.. so you know there was no time for dropping, or writing. just working on this mess.

I also think something in our browser is connected to this as well.

PLEASE - If You were Redirected When you got here, Please Leave Me A  Commentand that will tell me how it's effecting my visitor count, and if others are having this problem still, since I cleaned up my page twice in the last 24 hrs.

Entrecard Has Massed OUT - Smilies Requested

Well Well Wellllll. Entrecard now has a staff - as we say in Jamaica "Dem Mass Out"

When we got the blog tonite, we noticed an immediate improvement. just the fact that we know what may or may-not be happening behind the scenes, makes us happier. There was a Professional air to blog, and the announcement of a New Director of Business Development. That means stuff is getting done.
She indicates that there is a plan being developed. Can You Imagine, Entrecard working with the rules in place, instead of changed to meet mood or needs of the previous owners.

A Couple of the most important changes were announced tonight. I belive they will have an immediate impact on the entrecard economy, and the morale or it's many members. I'm looking forward to seeing the categories finally cleaned up of dead blogs; and a real count put in place. This would allow for proper credit of popularity. that would be like a cherry ontop of the cake.

maybe if they finally get around to it, they'll also look at a system to allow user ratings and utilize that data to better assess the quality of a blog, instead of the ridiculous points system that is presently in place.  trust me, no blog should be in top place if they don't update at least every 7 days. how could they be current if they didn't. Blogs that get lots of comments should also be recognized for their popularity. this would I believe help to cut the problem we all see in bounce rate. You would read to be able to rate and then get the points;
extra points for leaving a rating and a comment. that's what blogs rely on. Comments and Return Visits.

Mostly the interaction with visitors is what we want, and what makes a blog's true popularity measurable. there must be some way to recognize the blogs that set trends as well, and that serve special populations. We do think that their first initiatives are spectacular; as they read with clarity; what Graham ignored vehemently.

The elimination of paid ads and the cashout programs are totally correct for a new startup. this is basically a new start up, because the owners are taking a barely functioning social network / virtual advertising company - and attempting to revive it;

to the delight of the users

We Wish Cindy Ung - Director of Business Development; and the new owners nothing but good will and fairness in their changeover process. it takes alot of grit to build a company from the ground. Graham had a vision, and maybe Andrew can make it a reality. We Sure Hope So.

So Did you hear about the changes to Entrecard, and how do you feel about them ?
HEY LEAVE US A SMILE And Tell Us Please, as we're lonely without your comments :.(

here's the note we received tonite,

Posted: 22 Jul 2009 08:18 AM PDT

Dear Entrecard Members,

My name is Cindy and I am the new Director of Business Development for Entrecard. I will be representing the Entrecard team in future posts and will be relaying information about new Entrecard changes and updates to users. I am excited to be working for Entrecard and look forward to reading your opinions and comments about Entrecard services.

We are making great progress with the transition and have come up with several ways to refine needed Entrecard services. I would like to inform you about two important changes.

Effective immediately, we will no longer accept applications for “paid ads” on your widget space. Based on user comments and blog posts, users have not been happy with the “paid ads” that was implemented a few months ago. Although a good portion of the revenue (75%) is given back to the users through the “credit cashout program,” we have found that most users would prefer not to have “paid ads” on their widgets at all. As a result, we have decided to eliminate “paid ads” on your widget. We are no longer accepting new “paid ads” and any ads currently in the system will continue to run until they are completed.

Second, we have received many user requests to redeem credits for cash through the “credit cashout program.” Some users have been paid while many users have not. Since we are ending the “paid ads” program, we are also eliminating the “credit cashout program.” As promised, we will continue to pay as many users as we can with the remaining funds from the “paid ads” system. Within the next 3 days, we will distribute the remaining funds from the “paid ads” to users on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once these funds run out, we will reissue credits back to those users who applied for the cashout program but did not receive money. An email notification will be sent out to our users.

We understand that eliminating the “credit cashout program” may upset some users. However, Entrecard is actively developing ways for Entrecard users to use, sell and trade their credits. This is on the top of our priority list.

Once again, we feel that ending the “paid ads” and “cashout” program will benefit Entrecard and its users in the long run. We understand what your concerns are and we intend to address them. Thank you for being a valued member. Stay tuned for updates.

Charges have been dropped against Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. after an arrest he's calling racially motivated.

Prosecutors dropped the disorderly conduct charge against prominent black Harvard University scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr., who was arrested Thursday at his home after a reported break-in.

The city of Cambridge issued a statement Tuesday saying the arrest "was regrettable and unfortunate." The statement says police and Gates agreed that dropping the charge was a just resolution.

Supporters say Gates - the nation's most renowned scholars of African-American history - was the victim of racial profiling.

Police responded to Gates' home near the university in Cambridge, Mass., after a woman reported seeing two black men trying to force open the front door.

Gates said he had returned from a trip overseas, found his front door jammed and had to force it open.

Gates showed the officers his drivers license, which listed the address as his residence.

Police said the 58-year-old Gates was arrested after he yelled at an officer, accused him of racial bias and refused to calm down.

A distinguished black Harvard University professor was handcuffed and dragged off his porch to jail after Massachusetts cops mistook him for a burglar.

Henry Louis Gates Jr., one of the nation's most renowned scholars of African-American history, was busted when he repeatedly accused a cop of racism for confronting him, police said.

"Why, because I'm a black man in America?" Gates, 58, demanded, the police report said.

"I warned Gates to calm down, but Gates ignored my warning and continued to yell at me," Cambridge Sgt. James Crowley wrote. "It was at this time that I informed Gates he was under arrest."

Gates heads Harvard's W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African-American Research. He was also host of "African American Lives," a PBS series in which he traced the roots of black celebs, including Oprah Winfry and Morgan Freeman. Time magazine has named him one of the 25 most influential Americans.

Despite his fame, Crowley, who is white, didn't recognize Gates, prompting the prominent academic to yell, "You don't know who you're messing with!"

Crowley said he took offense at Gates' "loud and tumultuous behavior."

"I was quite surprised and confused with the behavior he exhibited toward me," he wrote in his report.

Crowley said Gates continued to berate him - and when he asked the professor to speak to him outside, he claims the scholar told him, "Ya, I'll speak to your momma outside."

Gates apparently arrived home from China last Thursday to find his front door so damaged he couldn't open it, said his Harvard colleague Charles Ogletree.

When Gates and his driver tried to get in through the back door they set off the alarm and a white neighbor who saw them called the cops.

"He was handcuffed on his own front porch," said Ogletree, explaining that Gates produced ID to prove he lived there and that he was a Harvard professor.

Gates was held at the Cambridge police station for four hours before being released without bail on charges of disorderly conduct, Ogletree said.

Harvard colleagues called the arrest a case of racial profiling.

"We do not believe this arrest would have happened if professor Gates was white," said Allen Counter, who has taught neuroscience at Harvard for 25 years.

In a statement last night, the Rev. Al Sharpton called Gates' arrest "an outrage of no small implication."

"I have heard of driving while black and even shopping while black, but now even going to your own home while black is a new low in police community affairs," said Sharpton, who is vowing to attend Gates' Aug. 26 arraignment.

Final BMF Don Copped - J Is This Really the death of Auto Tune ?

We've written alot about the BMF Cases;  and it's been a big hit on this site and the internet in general.  Finally, we have an update.

Lets start with a video - The Death of Autotune by Jay-Z.  what you'll notice is that there is "a feel" to this video.  a mafia like tone,  shall we say.  there's alot of things about this video that make us wonder about the connection to BMF.  Finally we saw it;  the shout out.. that's the key.

You are probably wondering what this video has to do with the BMF - wellllll JEEZY, that's what.  Jeezy gives a shout out to BMF in His Tune; and JayZ gives a shout out to both Jeezy and BMF; so apparently there is more of a connection to the BMF;  Than just music,  people said just that in court recently. the final case was heard and that testimony locked the door on Big Meech and Southwest T for up to 30 years.

Jeezy Says " BMF organization has been reportedly quieted on the streets. " from the recent news articles we can all see, it's claimed some of the top young stars in Rap, and Atlanta's Rap Music Scene.

Is this the end of the BMF Saga ?

Somehow we don't think so..

check out this story from a very reliable source indeed

Remaining BMF Member Arrested After Two-Year Run

The alleged final member of famed criminal organization the Black Mafia Family (BMF) has been arrested after reportedly being on the run for two years.

The arrest took place last Thursday (July 16) morning in Georgia.
Federal agents found another member of the Black Mafia Family, the last member who is not now in prison, U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force reported Friday. Vernon Marcus Coleman -- who had several aliases such as Jason Stevenson Parkinson and WU -- was picked up Thursday morning at a north Atlanta apartment. He was indicted more than two years ago on a federal charge of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. Coleman also was wanted in Douglas County for failing to appear in court on a traffic charge. (AJC)

He was reportedly on the run for just over two years.
According to investigators, Coleman had been on the run for two years. An arrest warrant was issued for Coleman July 10, 2007 for possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. Coleman was wanted in Douglas County for failure to appear for traffic offenses. Coleman is an alleged member of the crime ring known as the Black Mafia Family or BMF. Coleman is also a rapper who goes by the name WU and is associated with The Life Records, The Illustrious (ILL) Family, and B-EZ Entertainment. (My Fox Atlanta)

Atlanta-based rapper Young Jeezy, a known associate of BMF leaders, was once identified as a conspirator.
Testimony offered yesterday (June 12, 2008) in the federal government's cocaine-conspiracy case against alleged Black Mafia Family member Fleming "Ill" Daniels revealed a stunning allegation: According to a witness, Atlanta hip-hop superstar Jay "Young Jeezy" Jenkins received kilos of cocaine from BMF...The allegation was raised in U.S. District Court in Atlanta this week by a BMF member named Ralph "Ralphie" Simms. Simms was indicted last year in a related federal drug case in L.A. He told the jury that in exchange for his truthful testimony in the case against Daniels, he hoped to receive a reduced sentence.(Creative Loafing)

Aside from Jeezy's many references in music--and Jay-Z's "Death of Autotune" shout out--the BMF organization has been reportedly quieted on the streets.
One thing is certain: The crew is, for all intents and purposes, dismantled. BMF no longer supplies Atlanta with the vast majority of cocaine that finds its way to the city's streets -- a distinction it once enjoyed. And BMF no longer has the capacity to dispatch hundreds of kilos (hidden in the secret compartments of limousines) across the country every month, or to spend lot of money in the clubs while simultaneously causing a drought of Cristal. (Creative Loafing)

Last October, a large proportion of the men involved with BMF were sentenced to time behind bars.
Nine members of famed criminal organization the Black Mafia Family (BMF) were sentenced to prison time in Atlanta yesterday (October 29) for their role in the massive cocaine and crack distribution throughout the nation's biggest cities. Requesting U.S. District Judge Orinda Evans for enrollment in an intensive drug program in prison to help reduce their time, along with apologizing to the families they have affected, the group were given their terms for over nine hours in court. Enjoy BadGals Bob Marley Vault - Nothing but Marley

Reggae's greatest ambassador, Robert Nesta 'Bob' Marley, was recently honoured by the Ghanian organisation, the Diaspora African Forum (DAF) which erected a memorial marble plaque for the Jamaican musical icon.

Witnessed by dignitaries, comprising Chiefs and Elders of the community, Rastafarians, school children as well as scores of onlookers, the plaque erected on the Sankofa Wall at the DAF Mission, in Accra, Ghana, was officially unveiled by his widow Rita Marley during a civic ceremony recently.

The DAF is an African Union-endorsed initiative that links Africans at home and abroad together for the development of Africa. DAF's Sankofa Wall, located on the historic WEB Dubois land grant, is filling fast with names of Africans from the Diaspora such as Jamaica's Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Harriet Tubman and many other renowned and departed black figures.

"It was only fitting that Mr Marley, also known by his Ethiopian Orthodox baptismal name Berhane Selassie, was memorialised on the wall reserved for African ancestors and loved ones who spent their lives committed to Africa," a DAF release states.

According to the release, a long-time friend of Nana (African title) Rita Marley, Dr Desta Meghoo, said "Brother Berhane Selassie deserves this honour as the musical voice of Africans at home and abroad, the plaque gives him a place of remembrance in his ancestral home of Ghana."

Meghoo assisted in co-ordinating the event in her capacity as a director of the DAF Mission and liaison to the African Union. Nana Rita Marley OD, was surrounded by her Queen Mothers from her village in Aburi as she expressed heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Marley family. A resident of Ghana, Rita Marley has made great impact on Ghana through various initiatives including a recording studio, art gallery, health centre, schools, and infrastructure said, "I love Ghana, this is my home so this honour means a lot to my family, his fans, and of course to me."

Bob Marley rose to international fame in the 1970's with songs of freedom, liberation and justice for black peoples of the world. His songs became the voice of the voiceless, giving rise to a cross section of supporters ranging in age, class, culture, gender and race.

Well Howdy Doody - Did Graham Pawn Entrecard.. ?

Entrecard is now under the control of a company called Zip Runner inc. we toodled around on the net until we were finaly able to locate some info on this company no body knows anything about - Zip Runner inc; from of all places "The Turnip Of Power"..
"So either Graham sold EC to the original investor, or he simply lost control of the company because he couldn’t sell EC for enough to repay the 112k.." T.O.P.  07/16/09

two asshats

It was with mixed emotions that I woke up today to learn that Entrecard was sold. Sometimes a leader is SO bad you begin to enjoy their nonsense. Graham Langdon was Kim Jung Il with an asshat, running his online version of North Korea into the ground. The following is the main announcement from the Entrecard blog.
“It is with great excitement that I announce, Inc. has

been Acquired by ZipRunner Inc.

ZipRunner has the resources, vision, and dedication to Entrecard that

will allow it to grow in pursuit of the vision I laid out nearly two

years ago.

Moving forward, my relationship to Entrecard will be that of an

advisor, and I will help the good folks at ZipRunner take the whole

project to the next level.”
Great, so the grand leader is “staying on as an advisor”. If I could have given Ziprunner one bit of advice, it would have been to lose the cancer known as Graham. Other than alienating people left and right, what expertise does Graham possibly bring to the table? “Dude, if you ever find yourself late at night in a drunken threesome with enraged sealions, take my advice, drop the acai bowl, but hold onto the cell phone! Believe me, I’ve been there”. If you want , NAY, crave additional Graham mockery, then head on over to yet another soon to fail blog started by Graham:

Now, what does this mean for the bloggers who still use Entrecard? Well, Ziprunner certainly didn’t buy it to cavort around techcrunch parties as “Mr. Web Asshat 2.0″ bogarting every joint he can get his hands on. They bought it to turn a profit. Bottom line is they bought a list of bloggers. Names, emails, home addresses, social security numbers, and all.

Who is Ziprunner?
Number: C2322843 Date Filed: 12/12/2000 Status: active
Jurisdiction: California
Agent for Service of Process
2168 S ATLANTIC BLVD #232 Belongs to Powweb. Hmm, now the great turnip wheels begin to spin. Remember Entrecard’s original investor, Andrew Te? Entrecard has already received a $112,000 investment from them.

So either Graham sold EC to the original investor, or he simply lost control of the company because he couldn’t sell EC for enough to repay the 112k.

I guess the way Graham said it sounds so much better than “I f cked up and the investor took Entrecard because I didn’t meet my obligations”. Some sort of deal probably was struck as part of the original venture capital agreement, hence the “staying on as advisor” nonsense. Buy-out or not.

Do you think an 11year old girl should be called a Whore ?

If You Heard these words, what would you think ?
"A typical street whore." "A bunch of ghetto thugs." "Ghetto street trash." "Wonder when she will get her first abortion."
This is what someone said about 11 year old Malia Obama.

Republicans have stretched the line about as far as it can go to do this. there is no way this can be defended - no way.

the amount of attention these kids get is unbelievable; especially with them being pre teens and always on apparently their best behaviour. their mom and dad expect no less, I am sure. you can look at them as a family and tell that those girls have manners. they wouldn't say these things I don't think, so

I wonder why some adult could fix their mouth to say such nasty things about a lil girl, who they don't even know.

Now How Would You Feel, if someone Said This About Your 11 Year Old Who They Didn't Know ?

Comments Please, I am really curious to hear your opinions on this,

"A typical street whore." "A bunch of ghetto thugs." "Ghetto street trash." "Wonder when she will get her first abortion."

These are a small selection of some of the racially-charged comments posted to the conservative 'Free Republic' blog Thursday, aimed at U.S. President Barack Obama's 11-year-old daughter Malia after she was photographed wearing a t-shirt with a peace sign on the front.

The thread was accompanied by a photo of Michelle Obama speaking to Malia that featured the caption, "To entertain her daughter, Michelle Obama loves to make monkey sounds."

Though this may sound like the sort of thing one might read on an Aryan Nation or white power website, they actually appeared on what is commonly considered one of the prime online locations for U.S. Conservative grassroots political discussion and organizing - and for a short time, the comments seemed to have the okay of site administrators.

Moderators of the blog left the comments - and commenters - in place until a complaint was lodged by a writer doing research on the conservative movement, almost a full day later.
"Could you imagine what world leaders must be thinking seeing this kind of street trash and that we paid for this kind of street ghetto trash to go over there?" wrote one commenter.
"They make me sick .... The whole family... mammy, pappy, the free loadin' mammy-in-law, the misguided chillin', and especially 'lil cuz... This is not the America I want representin' my peeps," wrote another.
Such was the onslaught of derision on the site that the person who originally complained about the slurs, who goes by the nickname 'CatM', claimed on the left-wing website that only one comment in the first hundred posted actually criticized the remarks as inappropriate.

A note on the front of Free Republic reads, "Free Republic does not advocate or condone racism, violence, rebellion, secession, or an overthrow of the government," but one comment on the thread read, "This disgusting display makes me more and more eager for the revolution," while another read, "I never actually wnated [sic] to be a pistol before but..."

After attention from other blogs, the thread was suppressed and placed under review, but before long it was returned to the site intact, and attracted a new series of racial slurs when the original complaint email was posted publicly to the site, with the sender's email address intact.
"The writer has a point," wrote site owner Jim Robinson sarcastically. "We should steer clear of Obama's children. They can't help it if their old man is an American-hating Marxist pig."
"I agree Jim," wrote commenter, by the nickname NoobRep. "The kids didn't pick their commie pinko pansy of a father. Nor did they choose to be put into the spotlight. But Obama/Soetoro is fair game and so is his witch of a wife."
"Poor kids. I hope they're not 'punished with a baby'," wrote another. "Hopefully they won't deal cocaine like the Kenyan."
"DIRTBAGS! All of them. Our [White House] is now a joke to the rest of the world. We have no respect and this is not going to turn out well, mark my words. We will be hit, and much worse than last time. We are now seen as weak and vulnerable. Ghetto and Chicago thugs have taken over."
Only after significant negative attention from a host of left wing political blogs did the maintainers of the Free Republic site place the thread under review for a second time, before finally pulling it.

In the wake of the controversy, some Free Republic posters complained about the vitriol.

One poster by the name of "fullchroma" wrote, "To Jim Robinson: The recent uptick here in racist vitriol, aimed at Barrack, Michelle and their children has made me wonder if I belong. My objection to Obama has nothing to do with skin tone. Is the ugly stereotype of Conservative racism true?"
Another, going by the name of TChris, wrote, "Free Republic is a political discussion forum. It SHOULD be beneath us as a group to stoop to such juvenile tactics as I see increasing here lately. Do we REALLY have to insult Mrs. Obama's appearance like a clique of nasty 14-year-old girls?"
But such opinions were not shared by all. Said Roses of Sharon, "Poor libs .... Too late, the battle has been joined."

NOTE: A screen capture of the entire thread has been saved here.

Can Each One Reach One - We Think So

“Guilt has never been part of it,” he said. “It’s excitement instead, presenting people with an opportunity — ‘you have an amazing chance to build a well!’ ”

We Think this guy is one of the smartest guys in the world. Scott Harrison took his place in history and our hearts when he gave his heart to Clean Water. We've written many pieces on water and fundamental rights of humans to clean water; but this guy gave it his all, by dashing his millionaires life to become a photog for a charity who focuses on Children, and of course Water.

All of us could do more to help, and we can all certainly help by spreading the word.

We're suggesting our blogging buddies make themselves a part of the effort. Do One Day a Week of Public Service Blogging and Feel the Rewards Instantly. Each One Reach One; and Each One Can Teach One.

People always ask: What can I do to make a difference?

So many people in poor countries desperately need assistance. So many people in rich countries would like to help but fear their donations would line the pocket of a corrupt official or be lost in an aid bureaucracy. The result is a short circuit, leaving both sides unfulfilled.

That’s where Scott Harrison comes in.

Five years ago, Mr. Harrison was a nightclub promoter in Manhattan who spent his nights surrounded by friends in a blur of alcohol, cocaine and marijuana. He lived in a luxurious apartment and drove a BMW — but then on a vacation in South America he underwent a spiritual crisis.
“I realized I was the most selfish, sycophantic and miserable human being,” he recalled. “I was the worst person I knew.”

Mr. Harrison, now 33, found an aid organization that would accept him as a volunteer photographer — if he paid $500 a month to cover expenses. And so he did. The organization was Mercy Ships, a Christian aid group that performs surgeries in poor countries with volunteer doctors.

“The first person I photographed was a 14-year-old boy named Alfred, choking on a four-pound benign tumor in his mouth, filling up his whole mouth,” Mr. Harrison recalled. “He was suffocating on his own face. I just went into the corner and sobbed.”

A few weeks later, Mr. Harrison took Alfred — with the tumor now removed — back to his village in the West African country of Benin. “I saw everybody celebrating, because a few doctors had given up their vacation time,” he said.

Mercy Ships transformed Mr. Harrison as much as it did Alfred. Mr. Harrison returned to New York two years later with a plan: he would form a charity to provide clean water to save lives in poor countries. But by then, he was broke and sleeping on a friend’s couch.

Armed with nothing but a natural gift for promotion, and for wheedling donations from people, Mr. Harrison started his group, called charity: water — and it has been stunningly successful. In three years, he says, his group has raised $10 million (most of that last year alone) from 50,000 individual donors, providing clean water to nearly one million people in Africa and Asia.

The organization now has 11 full-time employees, almost twice as many unpaid interns, and more than half a million followers on Twitter (the United Nations has 3,000). New York City buses were plastered with free banners promoting his message, and Saks Fifth Avenue gave up its store windows to spread Mr. Harrison’s gospel about the need for clean water in Africa. American schools are signing up to raise money to build wells for schools in poor countries.

“Scott is an important marketing machine, lifting one of the most critical issues of our time in a way that is sexy and incredibly compelling — that’s his gift,” said Jacqueline Novogratz, head of the Acumen Fund, which invests in poor countries to overcome poverty.

Mr. Harrison doesn’t actually do the tough aid work in the field. He partners with humanitarian organizations and pays them to dig wells. In effect, he’s a fund-raiser and marketer — but that’s often the most difficult piece of the aid puzzle.

So what’s his secret? Mr. Harrison’s success seems to depend on three precepts:

  • First, ensure that every penny from new donors will go to projects in the field. He accomplishes this by cajoling his 500 most committed donors to cover all administrative costs.

  • Second, show donors the specific impact of their contributions. Mr. Harrison grants naming rights to wells. He posts photos and G.P.S. coordinates so donors can look up their wells on Google Earth. And in September, Mr. Harrison is going to roll out a new Web site that will match even the smallest donation to a particular project that can be tracked online.

  • Third, leap into new media and social networks. This spring, charity: water raised $250,000 through a “Twestival” — a series of meetings among followers on Twitter. Last year, it raised $965,000 by asking people with September birthdays to forgo presents and instead solicit cash to build wells in Ethiopia. The campaign went viral on the Web, partly because Mr. Harrison invests in clever, often sassy videos.

One popular video (Posted at the top of this blog post ) shows well-heeled Manhattanites stepping out of their luxury buildings and lining up to fill jerrycans with dirty water from a lake in Central Park. We watch a mother offer the murky water to her small children — and the upbeat message is: you can help ensure that other people don’t have do that, either.

Mr. Harrison’s underlying idea is that giving should be joyous, an infectious pleasure at the capacity to bring about change.

“Guilt has never been part of it,” he said. “It’s excitement instead, presenting people with an opportunity — ‘you have an amazing chance to build a well!’ ”

Can Somebody tell us When will this discussion End ?

Somehow I never believed that I could write a blog that would
provoke such discussion - Between White Folks; About Black folks.. DEEP

please take a moment and Go check out this discussion of one of my most recent blogs - ON TOPIX; (the blog is below for your reference)

~RE Ausetkmt - Realities Groups /

Jacquline McClelland poses with a photo of her son Brandon McClelland, Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, in Paris, Texas. Brandon, a black man, was on a late-night beer run across state lines to Oklahoma with two white friends last month and ended up dead on a rural Texas road. Authorities say he was run over by a pickup and then dragged as far as 70 feet beneath the truck. Two white men have been charged with murder in the case. (AP Photo/Matt Slocum)

"I truly feel that race played a part in it," said the victim's mother, Jacquline McClelland. "It is a racist town, and Paris has always been a racist town."

The city is perhaps best known for its 70-foot Eiffel Tower replica topped by a giant red cowboy hat. Paris, which is 73 percent white and 22 percent black, was in the news last year after a black girl was sentenced to up to seven years in a juvenile prison hundreds of miles from her home for shoving a teacher's aide at school, while a white girl was sentenced by the same judge to probation for burning down her parents' house.

At the town square, decorated with pumpkins and hay bales for Halloween, the mother of the black girl said Friday that she began to feel Paris was a racist town after moving there from Oklahoma.

"There's a certain amount of fear that is pressed into black people when they live in Paris," said Creola Cotton.

According to court papers, Finley and Charles Ryan Crostley, both 27, told police they left the dry town to get beer in Oklahoma, and on the way back, the three men, all apparently drunk, argued about who was sober enough to drive. McClelland, an unmarried maintenance worker, decided to walk home, taking some beer with him, the men told police.

Finley's estranged wife and one of his friends said they had been told by the two defendants that Finley began to bump McClelland with the front of his truck until McClelland fell, and Finley drove over him, according to court papers. Crostley and Finley then allegedly drove to a car wash to clean off the blood.

Suspects set free in Texas Murder By dragging case

a Blackman’s life ain’t worth a Whitemans life in Paris Texas. apparently, since the two whitemen who dragged a blackman to death in 2008 were released free. Why ?

the two murderers who were released

we have the first part of this story in an earlier archive and we’ve linked it in for Here. Please if you have a comment, go by womanist musings and leave a comment about this mess.

From Womanist Musings

“A Black man’s life is still not worth a white man’s life in Paris, Texas,” said activist Anthony Bond. “I am 55 years old and I know racism when I see it. Paris, Texas, is eaten up with racism.”

Bond was among 300 people who protested June 8 at the courthouse in Paris after the special prosecutor suddenly dropped murder charges against two white men accused of murdering a Black youth last September.

Above we see the victim Brandon McClelland's Mom - Jacqueline McClelland, as she speaks to a rally at the courthouse. She is surrounded by members of the New Black Panther Party, Nation of Islam, Tarrant County Local Organizing Committee and the NAACP.

The New Black Panther Party, the Nation of Islam and Concerned Citizens for Racial Equality organized the rally.

Brandon McClelland’s mangled body was found on Sept. 16, 2008, on a country road. Authorities estimated that it had been dragged more than 70 feet.

McClelland’s family and members of the Black community who attended the protest stressed that the dismissals were the real injustice, and another example of racial inequality in Paris, a town with a long history of violent racism.

Shannon Finley and Charles Crostley, the two white men who had been arrested for McClelland’s murder, walked out of jail on June 4 with no restrictions.

At the courthouse rally, where a monument to the Confederacy dominates the lawn, McClelland’s mother and father spoke to the crowd through tears. Jackie McClelland said the dropped charges show that the justice system treats Blacks and whites in Paris unequally.

“I said from the start they were going to sweep this under the rug,” she said. “And nine months later, that’s exactly what happened. This was a hate crime. We couldn’t even have an open casket for my son.”

“What if it was your son? Would you fight for your kid?” said Bobby McCleary, McClelland’s father. “I miss that one word my son used to say: Pops. He didn’t call me Dad. He called me Pops.”

Rock Banks, who said he was a “grand titan” in the East Texas Ku Klux Klan, angered the crowd during the rally. He held up a small patch displaying a Nazi-era Iron Cross. After a near confrontation, he was forced to leave.

Activists vowed to get the Department of Justice to take an interest in the case. They have begun writing letters to the White House and Attorney General Eric Holder. “It’s going to be a huge campaign to get the attorney general involved,” said Deric Muhammad of the Nation of Islam in Houston. “They released two killers on a maybe. They released two killers on a might be. They released two killers on an if.”

The district attorney released Finley and Crostley after defense attorneys suddenly produced a truck driver who said he may have accidentally hit McClelland. The district attorney had given the truck driver immunity for his statement.

Protesters carried signs saying, “We Want Justice,” and “Where is the Justice for Brandon?” Using a bullhorn, organizers led chants of “Black Power,” and “No Justice, No Peace.”

A national rally to protest the dragging death of McClelland is planned for July 21, the day that the murder trial had been scheduled to begin.

Paris also made national news in 2007 when an African-American student, Shaquanda Cotton, was sentenced to seven years in a Texas Youth Commission jail for pushing a teacher’s aide. Months earlier, the same judge had given a white teen probation for burning her family’s house down.

Cotton was finally freed after a national campaign on her behalf.

Paris is located in East Texas, known for its long history of racism and Ku Klux Klan activities. In 1998 another Black man, James Byrd Jr., was dragged to death in Jasper, 200 miles south of Paris.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Paris was the site of one of the country’s most notorious “spectacle” lynchings in 1893, when 10,000 people gathered to watch the torture and burning of Henry Smith, a Black man who was accused of killing the 3-year-old daughter of a white policeman.

Smith had fled to a small town near Hope, Ark., but was caught and brought back to Paris by train. Word traveled that he had been brought back and spectators came from miles around, using “special excursion trains” to travel from Dallas.

Smith was placed on top of a wagon and paraded around the town square, then taken to a prairie south of the Texas & Pacific railroad depot, where scaffolding had been built for the occasion.

Ida B. Wells cited this case in “The Red Record: Tabulated Statistics and Alleged Causes of Lynching in the United States,” printed in 1895, which documented her research on and campaign against lynching.

Three decades later, in 1920, a Paris mob killed brothers Herman and Irving Arthur, Black sharecroppers, who were accused of killing their white landlords.

The brothers, who claimed self-defense, were taken from the Lamar County Jail to the fairgrounds where, according to the Dallas Morning News, they were chained to a flagpole and burned. The mob then dragged their bodies through the Black neighborhood of Paris.

New Black Panther Party organizer Sister Krystal Muhammad told Workers World the group is getting endorsers and organizing around the state for the demonstration on July 21. “We will not stop organizing until there is justice for Brandon. Racist murderers cannot be allowed to kill with impunity!”

Can We Fix It Y'all - Entrecard needs a Bailout

Earlier tonite I wrote a response in the comments to this post on Entrecard.

I'm sure I'll be put through the shredder for the hard stance I advocate. but my honesty should not be a suprise to any of my regular visitors.

I am totally against Paid Posts Blogs being in Entrecard; as well as Clickfarmers - who only live to hit the magic 300 on each of their many accounts daily, without any regard for the bouncerate or content of the bloggers they rob daily. Please take a moment and read grahams post by clicking the link below inorder to get clarity on my response below. I know it may suprise many of you that I am taking this tone,

But I Am a Blogger and I Love BLOGS.

Taking action against the bounce rate

(Written on June 30th, 2009 by Graham)

Graham: just a few thoughts after giving this a few days to digest more fully:

IMHO, the real problem is that EC's are being treated like Money; and they're NOT.

if people could learn that; we'd have Less "300 click a day" Clickfarmers; and a whole lot less splogs in the categories. Quite Simply, paying people to cash out in cash; instead of recycling the ec's back into the system is what really feeds the problem..

The Remedy is Simple

1. Return To a Non Cash for ec buyout ; and stop selling EC's.

2. reduce the maximum amount of clicks per day to a more managable maximum for the system; closer to 50 per account.

3. hire some behind the scenes techs to clean up the splogs and eradicate the dead blogs in the categories -

get it back to what it should be if you really want to count your Active population, Accurately.

click the image to read the blog telling you why you should not use entrecard as a clickfarm if you use adsense

4. Remove any duplicate or paid post blogs immediately, since they are not blogs inessence; and are the biggest pay-out items.

This is especially a conflict of interest with bloggers who blog for the love of writing; and they see the problem clearly, since these splogs are ADS, and that is a direct violation of the existent tos.

A Paid Post IS An AD
there is no way around it
Then Graham, you can put entrecard on the auction block as a clean and lean social networking machine. that's what makes a sale, not consistent policy changes that do nothing to stabilize the economy or political structure of the unit itself.Remember to Listen to the People; As They Support Themselves. To Put the Spark back in - Make it once again about the members, instead of CASH OUTS.

End the payouts and you will be making the first step toward strengthening the whole.

then stop approving multiple blogs which are clearly splogs, that dilute the pool of quality blogs. those splogs drop the value as quickly as the clickfarmers.

IMHO, then - entrecard can recover and rebound as a member driven and fed unit.
